Welcome Home

Welcome!  Starting this blog has been a goal of mine for over a year.  Having worked in the senior care industry for 10 years, I knew there was a need for families to learn they are not the only ones caring for a senior loved one.  Believe me, you are not alone!

So this blog was established as a resource for families, as a place to express your concerns, and a place to ask questions.  Let's be honest with each other and really talk!

So I will start.  I guess for me being around seniors has always been the norm.  My mother's mother had a stroke at the age of 50 so she was in a nursing home from the time I was born till she passed 15 years later.  My father's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1987 and only lived another 2 years.  However the senior I probably spent the most time with but never really thought of as my elder was my parents neighbor, Milly.  She passed away in November 2012 at the age of 112!  So when I look back on my decision to go into the senior care business, it just seemed like a natural fit.

I hope through this blog, you will find resources to help get through the tough days and build memories of the good days!

So tell me about the senior in your life and the role you play in their life.
