It's Memory on Monday's...
You know how you do certain things throughout your day and something triggers a fond or funny memory! Well when I am in Florida, I have to hand wash the dishes. No dishwasher here, darn it!
As I was washing the dishes tonight, I had a happy memory moment. My neighbor Milly would always tell me to wash the dishes and not play in the water when we did them together when I was a kid. So as I splashed water all over the counter, floor and down the cabinets as I washed away, I had to laugh! I have not changed my dish washing ways at all. I always make a mess!
Maybe its my way to take a boring chore and make it fun, who knows! My boyfriend knows to remove all his non-waterproof items off the counter before I start, otherwise they could be soaked by the time I am done! Last week I even soaked myself with my wishy-washy washing!
Milly was always teaching me lessons. She was a very smart, independent woman who lived alone so she had to fix problems on her own. She taught me how be an independent woman too! Those little lessons you learn as a child are what form you as an adult. And she sure did teach me a lot of lessons! You will hear a lot more about her and her lessons as we reminisce weekly.
So as you go about your day, think about who formed you as an adult? Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Neighbors, Friends, Siblings??? Thank them today for taking the time to make you the person you are as an adult! What fond or funny memory have you remembered lately? Please share!
