Michael is a graduate of Mars Hill University with a BS in Chemistry and Tusculum University with a Master of Management Degree. It was at Mars Hill University where Michael met his wife, Shannon, of more than 25 years. In 2006, Michael felt a calling to leave his chemistry profession of 18 years to open Home Instead Senior Care. Michael has a passion for helping seniors and strives to provide the best possible care for them.
Shannon is a graduate of Mars Hill University.We were very blessed to have Shannon join our team in 2012, after she taught first grade students for over 20 years. . Her excellent organization and attention to details is crucial to meeting the everyday demands of home care. Shannon and her husband, Michael Goodman, have been married over 25 years.
Cyndi graduated from Wilkes Community College
with a degree in Medical Office Assisting. Her mother and grandmother were both
nurses. Watching them take care of people since she was a little girl helped
guide her into caregiving. Cyndi joined our team in 2014 as a CAREGiver and
transferred into the office in May of 2015. Since that time, she has been able
to put her organization and love of people to good use by making sure our
clients receive the best possible care we can offer them by teaching our
CAREGiver orientation training. In addition to training, Cyndi does billing,
reviews client care plans & reviews client charts making sure that our
clients are getting top quality service. Cyndi and her husband Shaen have two beautiful
children and reside in Purlear.
Debbie worked in the banking industry for over 30 years. She began her caregiving journey when her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease and she helped her mother provide his care until he passed away in 2008. Shortly after her father’s passing, Debbie joined our team. She began as PCA CAREGiver and worked to obtain her CNA license. Five years later when Debbie’s mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, she provided her care until her mother's passing in 2013. Her love for seniors and her desire to help them have a more independent life is what makes Debbie such a great fit with Home Instead Senior Care. Those same great qualities are why she now serves in our office as Service Coordinator Assistant. Debbie reviews client care plans, making sure our clients are having their needs met and getting the best service possible, while still serving as a CAREgiver. Debbie and her husband, Rex, of more than 40 years reside in Millers Creek.
Tina joined the Home Instead team in August of 2015. She has a B.A. in Human Services and was formerly a mental health professional for 15 years. Tina brings with her many years experience working with the needs of and advocating strongly for a diverse population. Tina is a passionate and devoted practitioner of yoga and other therapeutic body works. She has a 23 year old daughter and is active in many socially conscious causes.
