A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family. 

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

CAREGiver of the Month Morgan Sizemore will never forget the beautiful scenery, gorgeous blue skies and compelling conversations with her client, an author and artist, during their weekly drives from Anchorage to Wasilla.

CAREGiver of the Month – Logan Lorance

CAREGiver of the Month – Logan Lorance

Logan Lorance had never worked in professional senior care until he joined Home Instead Senior Care® of Anchorage on May 4, 2016, but he does have extensive family caregiving experience. His wife was diagnosed with a congenital neurological brain disorder five years ago. Logan also has four daughters, ages 7, 10, 13 and 15, and he helped take care of a grandmother who died in February.​

CAREGiver of the Month – Joshua Grossnickle

​When Joshua Grossnickle was growing up in Massachusetts, he hung around his dad's machine shop and listened to the stories as the men chewed the fat. Joshua picked up nuggets of wisdom about welding, general repairs, construction and life in general. Kids his age, Joshua pointed out, couldn't give him much perspective on life because they had not lived it like those guys.

CAREGiver of the Month – Elizabeth White

Life has moved swiftly for CAREGiver of the Month Elizabeth White during the past eight years. She moved from the northern California community of Red Bluff to Anchorage, found a job, got married and now has three children. Elizabeth, trying to keep up with family challenges, was forced to ditch a job she had held for four years because of its rigid scheduling and joined Home Instead Senior Care® of Anchorage in December 2014.

"Our company is based on Christian values, and that is important to me. I think seniors are here to teach us a lesson in compassion, and that is how to take care of one another. "I don't consider it a job," Gloria said, "because I enjoy what I do for Home Instead Senior Care. It is not just another paycheck. I've done this kind of work for many years – since 2004 – and always have liked it. What I do feels like a lifestyle."

I want to make a difference in a person's life," said Sarah, who moved in with her mother and helped her from October 2012 until her passing 26 months later. "Mom was able to stay at home because I was there with her. As a Home Instead CAREGiver, I want to keep my clients in their homes. Although the situations vary for each client, you just want to do the best for them."

I have cerebral palsy, and I work around my challenges to be the best CAREGiver I can be," Cheryl said. "Not everyone can do things exactly the same way in terms of technique. It might take me a little longer to do something than it would someone else, but that is OK as long as the client is safe and happy.
