To Us, It's Personal

Why Is It Personal To Caitlyn Sullivan?

For several years my grandfather was sick with leukemia.  His leukemia had subsided for about ten years, but returned in 2009.  He was eventually admitted to the hospital in February 2010 because he could no longer eat or swallow on his own.   Throughout his hospital stay, his goal and wish was to come home.  It wasn’t until then that my family learned that his long term care policy did not cover in-home care.

My grandfather passed away in March 2010 at the age of 74.  He was never able to return to his home.

“What if” often crosses my mind.  What if my grandparents had more education about long term care policies when they purchased theirs? What if my grandparents knew more about home care options when they planned for their futures? What if there was someone for them to turn to with all of their questions?
After knowing what they went through, I realized that Home Instead Senior Care could have been a solution to all of those “What Ifs.”  I am proud to be part of a team that provides the answers to all of the “what ifs” that families are looking for.
