"We were so impressed with Home Instead's 1st choice for a caregiver with our loved one with Lewy body dementia. His face lights up every time she is around. I love these guys for picking such a perfect person to spend time with our loved one! Little hint: Tell your initial case worker even the most minute details so they can try to get the best fit for your loved ones. "
"My experience with Home Instead has always been positive with so many caregivers I've had going on 5 years. All of us have different needs. I'm not able to physically clean like I used to or go on errands. I am always grateful to have whoever is scheduled, seeing to it that everything is taken care of. The whole team at Home Instead really does go out of their way to personally help in any way they can. They arranged a few times to help fix something when I had no one else to do it. If anyone out there requires care for physical in various situation, give Home Instead a try. You'll be glad you did!"
"For five years, Home Instead with your dedicated and cheerful caregivers made it possible for my husband to live here at home until his death. Thank you!"
"A few years ago, my mom developed severe arthritis in her knees and started to struggle with things like cooking, cleaning, and household chores. But, she wanted to stay in her home. So, we hired Home Instead and they did an incredible job. Their staff always treated her with respect as well as compassion. Their caregivers became her friends. They truly care about helping people! "
"I cannot speak highly enough about this agency; they are lovely. The care I have gotten is fabulous. I'm very pleased and I have been taken care of. I have been given help with walking, which is my primary concern, and initially I was taken care of physically. The care I continue to receive is light housekeeping and anything I have questions about is very easily and well answered. "
"They are very supportive of their CAREGIVERS! Training available, also library of books and games for use by caregivers and with their clients."
"This review was read by a Dementia Facilitator on behalf of a wife as an opening statement for Home Instead Presentation.
As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, our family had the opportunity to use the services of Home Instead. Because I cannot atten, I though I would send you a brief overview and some 'take-aways' from our experince in hopes that it may help someone else considering these type of service for their loved one. Feel free to share all or some the following if you'd like.
Approximately 10 years ago my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. It was changed to Parkinson's with Dementia when she started experiencing hallucinations, and then later changed to Lewy Body Dementia. Last April she was moved into an assisted living facility when the stress of caring for her became too much for my did. with two weeks of moving in, were told she was a 'flight risk' and needed to be in memory care for her safety and well-being. The situation was futher complicated due to the need for an immediate change occurring on a Friday and the facility had no openings in memory care. We had three options that day: move her home, try to find a different memory care facility, or provide 24-hour supervision via a service provider.
Thankfully, I calle Home Instead (Hillsboro). Within one hour of talking to their Director of Client Care manager, she was in our home discussing how they could assist us and by 5 pm had a caregiver with my mom and a weekend staffing schedule in place. (Her compassion and resourcefulness was beyond belief and exactly what we needed that day!) Althought the facility thought it would be a short wait for memory care, it ended up being 10 weeks befor an opening occurred and my mom was moved. Thankfully, my parents had the financial resources (private + logn-term care insurance) to cover this unexpected situation and she is doing great in memory care."
