As a homecare patient/client you have the right to:

  • Be given information about your rights for receiving homecare services.
  • Receive a timely response from MIKAL, LLC dba Home Instead Senior Care regarding your request for homecare services.
  • Be given information of MIKAL, LLC dba Home Instead Senior Care policies and procedures and charges for services.
  • Choose your homecare providers.
  • Be given appropriate and professional quality homecare without discrimination against your race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, handicap or age.
  • Be treated with courtesy and respected by all who provide homecare services to you.
  • Be given proper identification by name and title of everyone who provides homecare services to you.
  • Be given necessary information so you will be able to give informed consent for your service prior to start of any services.
  • A plan of services that will be developed to meet your unique service needs.
  • Participate in the development of your plan of services and the plan for discontinuation of services.
  • Receive regular supervision of the Direct Care Staff.
  • Be given data privately and confidentially.
  • Review your clinical record and/or your billing record at your request.
  • Receive a clear explanation of which services provided by MIKAL, LLC are covered by 3rd party reimbursement and which will be paid for by the client and of the charges that will be incurred.
  • Know that MIKAL, LLC maintains liability insurance.
  • Utilize the services of a translator, if needed.
  • Be informed of his/her rights under state law to formulate Advanced Directives and to have the health care provider comply with the Advanced Directives in accordance with state law.
  • Refuse treatment within the confines of the law and be given information concerning consequences of refusing treatment.
  • Voice grievance with and/or suggest change in homecare services and/or staff without being threatened or discriminated against. Somerset, NJ 08873 at 732-271-5100.  MIKAL, LLC dba Home Instead Senior Care is licensed by the Division of Consumer Affairs.  The Division of Consumer Affairs can be contacted by calling hotline number (973) 504-6301.
