Jane Urban established Home Instead Senior Care of West Hartford in 2004. Tim McDermott comes to Home Instead Senior Care with over 16 years of business development, networking, client service and quality assurance experience. Since childhood, Tim has had special connections with seniors, starting with his strong bonds with his grandparents and continuing through his years of working part-time at a skilled nursing facility and volunteering with the seniors during high school and college. After a decade in the in the hospitality industry, Tim returned to positively impacting the lives of seniors and their families, working in both senior living and home care. During the last six years, he has used his energy and genuine compassion to advocate for seniors and considers every day helping them to be a gift. Tim’s personal experience caring for his 96-year-old grandfather during the last year of his life gives him special insight into the experience of both the senior and their family members. As our Home Care Consultant, Tim builds relationships with other professionals by educating them about the resources and services Home Instead Senior Care provides to enhance the life of seniors. He applies his empathy and personal experience when consulting with prospective clients and their families to determine how we can best provide support and care to help them age in place in the comfort of their own home. His belief that all seniors should receive the highest quality care guides his conducting of quality assurance visits with caregivers and clients, making adjustments to ensure services and schedule are most optimal in meeting the client’s needs. Whether interacting with care professionals, families, or seniors, Tim strives to give them a special, tailored experience, living up to the Home Instead motto: “To Us, It’s Personal”.
