Bonnie O’Brien is our Human Resources Manager. Before coming onboard, she spent 25 years as an Administrative Assistant for Grand View Hospital. She enjoys being able to provide jobs to our area residents and appreciates the challenge of hiring individuals whom she thinks would be good caregivers and to represent Home Instead on the front lines. She is married, the mother of two grown children and a malti poo (a mix of a maltese and a poodle. She can be found walking him every day after work. She resides in Silverdale. Bonnie loves to travel and does so whenever she can. She especially loves travel that involves a beach.
Candace Price is our Administrative Assistant. Married to her high school sweetheart, they reside in Quakertown. Music is very important to her, and she and her husband have a tradition of attending every one of the ten days of the yearly Musik Fest in Bethlehem. They’ve been attending every year since its inception. Candy met her husband when they both sang in a Folk Choir, and the rest is history. She is also an animal lover and she enjoys bird watching. She is a “Dead Head”, the Grateful Dead being her favorite band. She’s seen them in concert at least a dozen times. Candy has been on both sides of Home Instead. Before his death, we provided care to her father in law.
Pamela Eelman is our General Manager. Prior to this position she was our Director of Marketing and Operations. She enjoys meeting each of our clients and helping them design a care plan that fits their needs. She believes strongly in what we do here and learned firsthand the stresses of being a family caregiver. She lives in Plumsteadville with her partner, six chickens and 60,000 honeybees. Two of her three children live on opposite coasts and nothing makes her happier than when they all come together. Pam is an avid reader, reading about 75 books a year. She’s the world’s biggest Bruce Springsteen fan, maybe because, like him, she is New Jersey born and bred.
William Rice is the owner and President of our Company. An engineer, he worked in various positions, including owning his own businesses. After leaving engineering, he realized he couldn’t just retire so 15 years ago purchased our franchise office. It’s his vision, dedication and hard work that made our Plumsteadville HISC known as the premiere agency in the area. Bill is married, the father of six and grandfather of fourteen! He enjoys travelling the country to see them all. He and his wife live in Jamison. He relaxes on his boat and loves deep sea fishing. His sons and sons – in –law make an annual trip off the Alaskan coast. Bill loves to travel and has friends all over the world.
Gail Hall is the newest addition to our team. As Scheduler, she is responsible for making sure there’s a good fit between the client and the caregiver. While skill set is very important when playing “match maker”, relationship is crucial! Gail loves that challenge, as she has a “passion for seniors”. She keeps balanced and relaxed with her daily meditation practice. Prior to coming to Home Instead, Gail spent 10 years at Pine Run. Many of our caregivers remember her as being the “go to person” on the fifth floor (dementia unit). She is married, the mother of two grown sons and lives in Buckingham. Gail loves to cook and her chicken parm dinner is the most requested dish by her family.
Jamie Brown heads up our Training Department and performs our Quality Assurance visits. The mother of one grown son, she lives in Ottsville. Jamie has been a nurse in various capacities for 43 years. She enjoys her job here and it gives her a sense of satisfaction to “impart the necessary skill set and techniques to make just about anyone a top notch caregiver”. When she’s not working Jamie can often be found singing in the New Hope -Solebury - Lambertville choir. She loves to take long walks and to read. The only genres she’s not into are horror and science fiction. She is also a student of philosophy.
Karen Weidman is our Bookkeeper. Her responsibilities include all financial aspects of our business from billing clients to paying caregivers. While it’s a stressful, time consuming job, she’s able to handle it by exercising daily. She loves to run and bicycle and do just about anything outside. She holds her neighborhood record of fifteen years of non-stop jumps on a pogo stick – 978 jumps! She’s married and the mother of 4 and lives in Doylestown. Before coming to Home Instead she worked at Pine Run as a caregiver, so it’s easy for her to sympathize with issues caregivers face. She enjoys photography in her spare time and loves to spend time at the beach.
