Jeanne Merchant - President/Owner

Jeanne Merchant - President/Owner
I am thrilled to be the owner of this Home Instead Senior Care franchise office serving seniors in multiple communities in southwest Oakland County!

From a personal side, I have resided in beautiful Oakland County for over 30 years, and was an executive in the automotive industry for many years. I am the proud Mom of three wonderful young adults.  My oldest son, Walt, still lives in Michigan after graduating with degrees in industrial and transportation design, and is an automotive interiors designer. My middle son, Dave, is a University of Michigan graduate (Go Blue!), and is living and working in Washington D.C. My daughter, Laura, graduated from UCLA with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, and now works for the University of California at their Riverside campus.  Laura has a mobility handicap, but leads a very happy and independent life in sunny California.  I enjoy applying my engineering skills to the mobility and accessibility challenges that my daughter and many of our clients face.

My sister, Glenna Yaroch, founded and owns the Home Instead Senior Care franchise office in Livonia, Michigan – so we are also business neighbors.  In 2013, we had the honor of caring for our Mom at home with hospice support, and the help of wonderful Home Instead CAREGivers.  Mom’s wish was that we would continue this work together.  The opportunity to share the Home Instead Senior Care mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults and their families – with my sister – is a great “encore career” and a blessing in my life.

Desi Harrison - Afternoon & On-Call Scheduler

Desi Harrison - Afternoon & On-Call Scheduler
I am the Afternoon and On-Call Scheduler at Home Instead Senior Care.  It is my privilege to be a part of this compassionate, professional team.

My professional background brings 18+ years within the medical field.  My experience started with home delivery and set up of medical equipment, working closely with homecare and hospice.  From there it was on to a physicians’ office where I worked in an Administrative capacity and in medical billing.

I too, have had the experience of being the caregiver at home.  In 2004, I left my career as my husband was diagnosed with a debilitating disease.  The following 10 years brought one experience after another starting with my mom, brother, and dad.  In the midst of this, my step-daughter passed unexpectedly leaving behind a 5 year old son with some physical disabilities.  I know first-hand, the “joy and challenges” of taking care of those you love the most.  It is for this reason that I am excited to be part of the Home Instead team, making a positive difference in the lives of our clients and their families.

I am happy to say that my husband and I will soon celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and our grandson is doing well.  I have recently graduated with an Associate degree and have had formal training as a Medical Assistant.  My daughter Jillian is currently a Registered Nurse and is pursuing her degree as a Nurse Practitioner.  My step son and his wife are soon to become a Grandpa & Grandma, which means…. I’m soon to become a Great Grandma!

Antoneta Rrethatokaj - Service Coordinator/Scheduler

Antoneta Rrethatokaj - Service Coordinator/Scheduler

As a Service Coordinator/Scheduler, I am responsible for scheduling clients and CAREGivers in order to provide the highest quality service to clients with emphasis on creating extraordinary relationships!  While living in New York I started working as a Scheduler for a home care agency.  After six years with that company my family decided that we wanted to move back to Michigan this past year.  Once we moved back, I decided to continue in the same line of work as a scheduler specifically in the Home Care industry, because I loved working with so many different people.

I started working here at Home Instead Senior Care in October 2015, and in such a short period of time I feel like I'm part of the Home Instead Family.  It's my honor to work with such a wonderful group of people, the office Staff and also the CAREGivers.

I've been married for 12 years to a wonderful man, Alban, who if you ask him says he is the only one patient enough to deal with my crazy sense of humor.  But if you ask me, he's just as crazy as I am!!  We have a beautiful 11 year old son, Nino that we love very much.  Fortunately for us, my son has the same crazy sense of humor his father and I have.  The apple didn't fall very far from the tree I guess!  So you can just imagine what goes on in my house with the three of us together.  There's never a dull moment…

Lisa Rogers - Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator

Lisa Rogers - Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator
I am the Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care. Most of my past employment has been in the big corporate world working in the Human Resources/Recruitment field. I took an extended leave when my mother was diagnosed with dementia and Lewy Body disease and cared for her for some time.
After caring for my mom and getting ready to go back to work, I decided to seek employment in the senior care field and was fortunate enough to find my current position with Home Instead Senior Care. I truly enjoy recruiting, hiring and working with all of our exceptional CAREgivers! I am familiar with caring for aging family members and I strive to find the best people to care for our wonderful clients.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking classes and continuing my education in Human Resources and Human Services. Between my husband Steve and myself, we have 3 great sons, Rob, Steven and our youngest, Jake, who is still in high school. We have one granddaughter and another grandbaby coming in December so we are really excited!

Nan Wilberding - Business Relationships Developer

Nan Wilberding - Business Relationships Developer
I am the Business Relationships Developer for Home Instead Senior Care in SW Oakland County.  My career with Home Instead began in 2003.  Over the last decade, I have enjoyed working with Seniors and their families to help find homecare solutions that enable the elderly to live safely and independently in their own homes.  In addition, I have also had personal experience caregiving.  Along with my siblings, I helped care for my elderly parents during their cancer treatments and through end of life.  Family caregiving can be challenging but it also provides opportunities for great love and deep relationships.  I believe that my personal caregiving experience has made me a better person, employee and advocate for the elderly.

On a personal note, I have lived in Oakland County for 27 years.  I have a big, wonderful family.  My husband and I have 6 kids that fill our lives and our hearts.  My undergraduate BBA degree is from The Ross Business School at the University of Michigan.

Carol Guyer - Client Care Coordinator

Carol Guyer - Client Care Coordinator

Recently I joined this Home Instead Team as Client Care Coordinator. As a previous CAREGiver, mentor, and class facilitator with this agency I bring an understanding of the importance of passionate and heartfelt client care.

I have many years experience in the education and healthcare fields functioning in various capacities. However, as with many of my coworkers, personal experience led me to my desire to work with people who for many reasons need a helping hand, a listening ear, and an open heart to continue on their daily life journey. My widowed mother was diagnosed with dementia in her 70's. Through her path navigating this debilitating disease we encountered many wonderful and compassionate caregivers that not only eased her daily struggles but opened their hearts to the wonderful woman trapped inside. My hope is to "pay it forward" to our clients and endeavor to reach each client at their individual place in their journey.

I was born in Pennsylvania. We came to Michigan by way of Florida and North Carolina. We are enjoying exploring this beautiful state and learning the Michigander way of life.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 38 years. We have three grown children that have lovely families of their own and successful careers. We have six beautiful and energetic grand children that we see as often as possible.

I look forward to continuing to serve the community and our clients through this Home Instead Team.
