 Home Instead Caregiver

A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

We are thrilled to introduce our outstanding award winning CAREGivers:

Michael K. : 2014 CAREGiver of The Year

Michael K. : 2014 CAREGiver of The Year

Michael has been a CAREGiver for our office since April 2013. He previously worked for a different Home Instead Senior Care franchise. We were more than happy to have Michael join our team. Michael demonstrates compassion, commitment and leadership with in all he does. Clients have referred to him as a friend, a son and even an angel. We introduced Michael to his first client from our office on the client's 90th birthday. The client (Mr. M.) and his family referred to Michael as "the best present" they could ask for. He and Mr. M. quickly bonded through the love of sports, history and fresh air. Mr. M. had graduated from hospice when we started service with him. Michael was a key player in helping him to regain strength and give him back his independence. He remained as a live in caregiver with Mr. M. for 18 months before Mr. M. passed. Michael is so highly regarded by the family that he was asked to be a pallbearer at the client's service. Michael continues to leave his imprint on the clients we serve. We are beyond happy to announce that Michael is our 2014 CAREGiver of the Year. Congratulations Michael and thank you for all that you do.

Sue A. : 2014 Hands of Hope Award Recipient

Sue joined our team in May 2005. Nearly 10 years later, she is still proving to be an outstanding CAREGiver who is committed to providing compassionate care. Sue is consistently a "go to" person and often puts clients needs before her own. In November 2014, Sue was recognized by the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation as a professional caregiver: Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation presents the 2014 Dr. Richard and Gertrude P. Zalar Gentle Touch Award through the legacy of the Gertrude P. Zalar Alzheimer Care Foundation. The late Dr. Zalar began the Gertrude P. Zalar Alzheimer Care Foundation and originated the award program in memory and honor of his wife Gertrude who succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease. Recipients of this award work with and provide outstanding care to people afflicted with Alzheimer’s or allied dementias. The 5 winners of this prestigious award receive a commemorative plaque and a monetary award of $500.00 presented during the Hands of Hope Conference at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center’s Bruce J.
