We founded this business out of a strong desire to serve the needs of our community's elderly adults. Our team is completely dedicated to keeping seniors in their homes leading safe, independent and more fulfilling lives.

 
We help our senior neighbors with personalized senior home care tailored to their unique needs. We provide companionship, home helper services, personal care, 24/7 Round-the-Clock Care, Incidental Transportation and many more.

 
We provide Alzheimer’s Care and many families find our services the perfect respite care to take some load off of the immediate family's caregivers. For others, we provide needed senior home care when the immediate family lives out of the area.

 
We understand how critical it is that you trust the Caregiver assigned to your loved one. We thoroughly screen each of our Caregivers and complete an extensive background check. Rick Regen, Owner Rick is an owner of Home Instead Senior Care. He started the business in April of 1998 with his mother, Sandra Smith. Prior to opening Home Instead, Rick worked in the restaurant business for 13 years. His experience in customer service has served him well at Home Instead. "One of the first things I learned was that the customer is always right and always look to solve problems before they start."

Customer service is at the heart of Home Instead Senior Care, from the free client care consultation, to always introducing new CAREGivers to clients, to having an office member on call 24 hours a day to handle any needs that come up, to having a client care specialist visit in your home each month to make sure we are doing our job. All these things set us apart from anyone else.

Rick spends a lot of time working in the community. He is a member of the Johnson City Rotary Club, served as an Alzheimer's Assn. board member for over 10 years, and is a leader in the Boy Scouts. Rick spent a lot of time with his grandparents growing up, which is where he developed his love for the elderly. Three of his grandparents died with dementia or Alzheimer's and that has given him a passion for helping keep seniors in their home and compassion for their disease. "We do whatever it takes to help keep you or your loved one in your home for as long as possible."​​​

After seeing first hand, what a difference a kind and compassionate CAREGiver can do for a client and their family, Robbie decided to leave a 10 year career in sales and management to join the Home Instead team. Understanding that aging and disability will inevitably touch us all, he strives to offer the community with the best CAREGivers and support available. His goal is to ensure every client is treated with the utmost dignity and respect and that their family understands that Home Instead Senior Care is the ultimate resource center to answer any and all questions they may have.​​​

Melanie Bowman, Home Care Consultant

Melanie joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in December of 2016 as the Home Care Consultant for our Johnson City and Greeneville offices. Melanie brings with her over 10 years of experience in senior care, with a background in assisted living administration. She understands the importance of the availability of resources to the senior community​, and as our Home Care Consultant, is responsible for building relationships with potential clients and their families. She is engaged in the community through her participation in health fairs, as well as through her conducting of presentations for area churches, nonprofit organizations, and businesses.​

​Hello, I am Crystal Ledford. I was born and raised in Elizabethton, TN, and graduated from Hampton High School & TN Technology Center. I am the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, and also take great joy in caring for my great nephew.  I enjoy baking, quilting, fishing, camping and hunting. I am also a DSLR Certified Photographer.

I am happy to be on crew with Home Instead Senior Care and look forward to working with you.

​My name is Atarah Yandles. I started with Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREGiver for four years, then moved into the office staff starting as part time, then into full time for the past four years.  Our office staff and CAREGivers are all like family, and I very much enjoy working with our community to help take care of our seniors.

Geri Kistler, RN, Client Care Quality Coordinator

Geri Kistler, RN, Client Care Quality Coordinator

​Geri was born and raised in NY State, and received her nursing degree in the state of Florida.  Geri worked as an emergency room trauma nurse for many years.  She has five grown children, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  Her hobbies are reading, fine arts, and travel.  Geri came out of retirement to work with our Home Instead team and loves visiting and checking on our Veteran's.   


Carrol Holland, After Hours/On Call Supervisor

​Carrol serves our Home Instead team by taking our after hours phone calls for the office.  Her duties include answering incoming calls in a prompt manner, and following up with and/or responding to any situations that arise after hours.  She also coordinates schedules and fills last minute shifts.  Carrol enjoys working with our clients and CAREGivers and strives to help everyone that needs assistance during the time when the staff is out of the office.
