Lisa & Ed Ganem, Co-Owners

Lisa & Ed Ganem, Co-Owners


Lisa and Ed Ganem opened their Home Instead Senior Care offices of Seacoast and Southern New Hampshire in 2002 after experiences in their personal life lead them to understand the many challenges that families face. Lisa's aging grandparents and the loss of family members, including the death of her father at an early age, prompted her to leave her career in finance. During this same time, they took in Ed's mother during her last years of life, as she alternated visits with Ed's siblings, to ensure she could remain at home and enjoy her children and grandchildren. Soon after these experiences, they realized their goal was to offer other families support by giving them the choice to allow their loved ones to age at home, wherever they may reside, with dignity and independence.

As a powerful, cohesive team, Lisa and Ed oversee day-to day operations, company standards and the overall management of their Home Instead Senior Care franchises. Their business acumen paired with their desire to promote a better quality of life for seniors allows them to successfully demonstrate their passion for serving the community. Ed works to ensure a personal level of service as he gets to know each new client and most often goes above and beyond the call of duty as he looks after the well-being of every client. While, Lisa works to get involved in the community as she serves on the Board of Service Link since 2005 and the Board of FOSI (Friends of Service Link), as Treasurer. Lisa graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor's of Science in Finance. Ed graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice.

Prior to Home Instead Senior Care, Lisa worked for many years as CFO for Harvard Translation, Boston Mass. This was followed by managing a 22 person financial consulting team for Managed Ops, Bedford, NH. She ended her corporate career as General Manager of North America for Exact Software based in Holland. During this same time, Ed worked in many capacities--spending most of his time forming a medical device manufacturing company with his brother but made a career change to join Lisa in her commitment to Home Instead Senior Care.

Celie came to Home Instead Senior Care in 2014. Celie is Director of Client Care. Coupling her education and work experience with her dedication to elder care, helps explains Celie's strong foundation and effectiveness in her role. Celie focuses on building relationships with clients and families to best support their needs and maintain service satisfaction. Celie's continuous communication with the CAREGiver team provides an accurate pulse on changes to client condition. This constant monitoring serves as the basis on which she can proactively strategize, tweak and further develop the best care plan and approach for each unique client and family. Celie has strong working relationships with local resources and providers with whom she collaborates with to create comprehensive care plans. Splitting her time between the office and home visits, Celie manages our Quality Assurance Program, discharge planning, introductions of CAREGivers to clients, and continuing education and training to our CAREGiver team and the many family caregivers that we support.

As a long-time caregiver to beloved aging family members, Celie has an instilled understanding and passion for helping adults age in place. Celie has a Bachelor's Degree in Health Management and Policy from The University of New Hampshire and is now completing her Masters Degree at Paul College of Businesses and Economics at The University Of New HampshirePrior to joining Home Instead Senior Care, she spent five years at Exeter Health Resources as an Operations Manager for an interdisciplinary group of physician practices. 

Celie was born and raised in New Hampshire. She and her husband try to take advantage of all that the Seacoast has to offer, including boating in the Great Bay, sailing out to the Isles of Shoals, and hiking in the White Mountains! ​​​

Jennifer Martin, Operations Coordinator

Jennifer Martin, Operations Coordinator


Jen Martin came to Home Instead Senior Care in April 2007 after gaining a wealth of knowledge from the healthcare industry as a social worker in skilled rehab facilities. ​She currently works as Operations Coordinator​. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Jen has been committed to serving the needs of seniors for almost a decade. She is a University of New Hampshire graduate and is an active member of the Portsmouth community. She has also served as the Director of Community Relations at a local senior living community. As the Director of Operations, Jen oversees the daily performance of the office, ensuring the highest level of customer service and quality care.

Evan James, Chief Development Officer of Seacoast NH

Evan James joined Home Instead Senior Care in April 2016. He is Chief Development Officer for the Seacoast NH region. 

Prior to Home Instead Senior Care, Evan founded and managed James Communications, Inc. (JCI) for twenty years, which was a strategic planning, marketing and communication firm in Pittsburgh, Penn. Under Mr. James' leadership, the organization grew to become a three office, two state network serving more than thirty clients in the healthcare, business to business, financial services, education and consumer products categories nationwide. Prior to leading his own agency, he spent 8 years at Hamot Health System in Erie, Penn servicing as Vice President of Planning and Marketing.

Evan received a Bachelor's in English from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. He received a Master's in Mass Communications from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Penn and a post-graduate concentration in Marketing at Harvard's Graduate School of Business in Boston, Mass.

He currently resides in Kittery, Maine. Evan is a decorated military combat veteran, having served with the Army's 25th Infantry Division. ​

Jamie Thurston, Chief Development Officer of Southern NH

Jamie Thurston, Chief Development Officer of Southern NH


Jamie Thurston joined Home Instead Senior Care in March 2015. She is Chief Development Officer for the Southern NH region.

She comes to Home Instead Senior Care with over 8 years of experience in sales and marketing within the senior care services industry, having spent most of her time working for skilled and long-term care facilities. She also worked as a recruiter for healthcare professionals​ and is certified in medical billing. She initially became involved in senior care in her teenage years as she helped care for her grandmother who had Parkinson's disease. Jamie has a great respect for Veterans. From an early age, she has been influenced by military issues as her father spent his career in the Army, moving her family many places stateside and internationally. Her grandfather also had a very distinguished career in the Navy and as a result was awarded the Silver Star.

She is an active member of the Lions Club of Hudson, NH and the Breakfast Exchange Club of Nashua, NH. Jamie participates in several hospital committees to advocate for seniors. You can hear her voice on several morning Nashua-based radio stations as she is a frequent guest speaker to discuss current and local senior issues. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.​​

Kim MacLennan, Personal Care Educator

Kim MacLennan, Personal Care Educator


Kim Maclennan is the agency's most seasoned and experienced staff member having j​oined Home Instead Senior Care in 2005. Since joining the home care agency, her role has had many transformations. She currently serves as the agency's Personal Care Educator, providing hands-on personal care and dementia care training for all CAREGivers. Kim began as a CAREGiver, joining the office staff as Quality Assurance Manager in 2007. It is her longevity within the organization that has allowed her to blend her CAREGiver and CAREGiver management experiences to provide dynamic and interactive training modules. It is her unique and creative approach that elevates the confidence and competence of all CAREGivers. 

Kim's caregiving career started at an early age as she has always actively enjoyed and respected seniors. Visiting with the ladies in her grandmother's rest home was the beginning of her desire to become a nurse. Kim graduated from Concord Hospital School of Nursing in 1980 and worked as an RN for 12 years. Changing direction, she home educated her two daughters, at which time her senior father-in-law also came to live with her family. As soon as her children were grown, she found Home Instead Senior Care. She continues to enjoy a very rewarding career. ​​

Becky Parsons, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Becky Parsons, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator


Becky is Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care, joining the team in June 2011. In her current role, she is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with our CAREGivers. Becky is responsible for all aspects of the hiring process.  She understands that each client has individual needs and works to find the right CAREGiver match.  Her main objective is to select CAREGivers who are reliable, compassionate and have a genuine interest in the quality of life of seniors in our community.  

Prior to working for Home Instead Senior Care, Becky worked for 8 years in finance as an Accounts Receivable Representative and Distribution Manager for a funding company specializing in the temporary staffing industry. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Maine, Orono, Maine.

Her hobbies include running, hiking, traveling and spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier, Harvey. 

Casey Szmyt, Lead Operations Coordinator

Casey Szmyt, Lead Operations Coordinator


Casey Szmyt is Lead Operations Coordinator​ for Home Instead Senior Care of Seacoast & Southern NH since joining the organization in August 2015. The focus of her highly visible position lies in identifying with and delivering on the scheduling needs of both our clients and CAREGivers.  Casey successfully fosters one-on-one relationships with our clients and CAREGivers, ensuring that each day runs effectively and smoothly.  Offering a positive experience for all is Casey's mission.  

Prior to Home Instead Senior Care, she worked as an Outreach Specialist at the Seacoast Mental Health Center. She also had a year-long internship with the Cheshire County Behavioral Health and Drug Court in Keene, NH. She has three Bachelor degrees from Keene State College, Keene, NH in Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies. ​

Patricia Gaudet, Office Coordinator

Patricia Gaudet, Office Coordinator


Patricia Gaudet is Office Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care of Seacoast & Southern NH since joining the organization in May 2016. In her current role, she works to support the daily operations of the agency.

Prior to joining Home Instead Senior Care, she was a Direct Support Professional at The Moore Center, Manchester, NH. Patricia has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH. When she is not working she enjoys hiking, swimming, ceramics and her beloved dog. ​
