Helping Grandma Manhart remain at home, where she enjoyed life past age 100, wasn't always easy for her family. But it was always important.

The Home Instead Senior Care office in Cass and Clay Counties is passionate about meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of the elderly in our community. Our CAREGivers provide home care help to elderly clients and their families who desire assistance with activities that used to be simple. Tasks like grabbing a can of soup from the top shelf, opening the mail, reading a book, folding laundry, tying shoelaces, or scrapbooking family history are not as easy as they used to be for many seniors. That's why we're here to help.

Our senior home care services may also include assistance with trips to the doctor, reminders to take the right medication at the right time, assistance with bathing and dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, and even Alzheimer's care. In fact, all of our CAREGivers receive training in caring for individuals with dementia. Whether you or an elderly loved one requires care for a few hours a day or 24-hour continual care, the result is companionship that allows seniors to feel safe and independent in their homes.

No matter where seniors live, in their home, assisted living communities, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, or even hospice care, Home Instead Senior Care provides thousands of hours of in-home care services to seniors annually in the Moorhead and Fargo areas. And in those situations when a client has aging-related medical needs beyond our home care capabilities, we refer them to our close partners in the health care industry.

At Home Instead Senior Care, our focus is on responsiveness - our extensively trained CAREGivers are exposed to ongoing training opportunities and our office has a representative on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to meet all of our clients needs. We strive to match our clients with CAREGivers who are not only compatible, but also prepared to provide the best care possible. To ensure that each relationship is the best it can be, our office staff performs regular quality assurance visits.

Community involvement is extremely important to the entire staff at Home Instead Senior Care in Fargo and Moorhead. Since 2006, our office has participated in the Be a Santa to a Senior program, and it's gotten bigger every year. We arrange and deliver donated gifts to seniors in the community who do not have family close by for the holidays. We also participate in and obtain sponsors for the annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.

Our staff regularly speaks on other topics, including how to make sure seniors are safe in their homes, ways to keep mentally fit, and the stresses of family caregiving.
