FP -Tracy Julia Terry 8-15-09 220.jpgOur lives forever changed in a way we never would have expected when our beautiful daughter Julia was born in 1991. She has been amazing gift and has taught us so much about priorities, the true value of life, about God's promise for us, and about ourselves.
Julia was born with a rare brain disorder and we were told by her doctor that she would likely not live past the age of 2. We have since learned to appreciate every day and remember that God is in control. We have enjoyed her and loved her for 24 wonderful years so far.
We have learned quite a bit about the demands of being caregivers for someone with complex needs. Mostly, we understand that people with care needs deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and need someone to advocate for them. Julia's sister Christy was diagnosed with type I diabetes in 2008 thus bringing a new dimension of understanding and compassion to the Baugh family. Balancing family life with busy schedules and activities of three children including our son Brian remains a challenge and a joy.
We knew we wanted to take what we learned from the experience with Julia and translate it into a service that will help others receive quality care. Understanding the expectations families have for in-home services has shaped the way we approach caring for seniors in their homes.
Knowing how difficult it is, and the level of trust that is required to allow someone to care for your loved one has given us an insight and a sense of responsibility when sending CAREGiver's into a client's home. We  understand how difficult it is to have a CAREGiver in the home since it is something we experience every weekday.
When seeking out a business that aligned with our values, we discovered Home Instead Senior Care. When we learned that the mission and values statement of Home Instead Senior Care Inc. includes, "To be the world's trusted source of non-medical care" and to "Honor God in all that we do", we knew we had found the right fit for ourselves and for the South Plains.
