Latest Reviews & Testimonials

"Before my recent surgery, I knew I needed assistance since family/friends are not in a position to help, but I wasn't sure where to turn or how to find good quality assistance. I narrowed the field to agencies where everyone was licensed, bonded and insured. In addition, Home Instead was the only agency I found that would help me get home from the hospital, helping carry my stuff, getting into a taxi, and up the stairs to my home. After that, Home Instead provided 24-hour care, and was flexible when I needed to reduce and/or change the hours. All of the aides were professional, polite, trained in helping me physically, and could go to the store or the pharmacy as I needed. They can also do some light housekeeping and will even do your laundry if desired. I hope I don't need them again anytime soon, but if I do, I would call them first without hesitation. "

"My 95 year old mother was a client of Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn from September 2016 until January 2017, when she came to live with me in Pennsylvania. My mother, who continued to exercise and enjoy socializing well into her 90's, had become physically and mentally frail. A friend had a wonderful experience with Home Instead in a different state, so I decided to try the Brooklyn service. From my first tearful phone call to Home Instead (during which I shared my mother's entire life story) until my last conversation explaining that my mother was moving in with my family, every staff member my mother and I interacted with was extremely patient, compassionate, empathetic, and professional. I was truly impressed with the communication between office staff, providers, and clients! If I called the the main office to make a schedule change, the Home Instead staff person I spoke with told me how much my mother's caregivers adored her, and was always aware of the wonderful stories about my mother's childhood that had been shared during visits. I felt that everyone at Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn really knew and loved my mom, and cared for her as if she were a family member. Senior care is a true calling for all who were involved in my mother's service plan, and not just a job. Providers often picked up games, puzzle books, and favorite food items for her, and one even had a friend who was a plumber fix my mother's thermostat! Although I left some microwaveable meals in the freezer, my mother's caregivers often had food delivered so they could cook a fresh, nutritious meal from scratch. My mother's caregivers still call to see how she is doing and to say how much they miss her. I enthusiastically recommend Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn to anyone looking for in-home care for a family member. "

"We needed home care for my mom after suffering two strokes. From the moment I placed the call to home instead to the time the caretaker was not needed they were awesome. They came on a short notice, assessed the situation and we're on top of her care. I live in Virginia and was more than comfortable knowing mom was in great hands. Thumbs up to Kim and Caroline for working together to make the transition easy for all, including my mom and siblings "

"We had 24-hour care from Home Instead Senior Care so it was 2-3 people that were working during the week. They lived at my parents’ home and we had to get hospice care in the end for my father. Most of the caregivers were very good and caring for him. He had bone cancer and they were very gentle with him and handled him very carefully. They were also very helpful to my mom; doing the laundry and doing some light cleaning for him. They stayed with him in the hospital which gave him a little bit of comfort because my mom couldn’t travel with him back and forth to the hospital. "

"Have been with this agency for 10 years. My dad went from hours per day to 24hrs care over the years. The owner and staff is wonderful. They are available, reliable, will listen and take care of any and all issues that may come up. They went the "extra mile". Always guaranteed coverage, never a concern no matter what the situation. The caregivers for my dad were most kind and caring, and if an occasion a caregiver may not click would right away provide a new caregiver. And this was most rare, in all these years. Their care and dedication gave me tremendous peace of mind. I highly recommend this agency of Home Instead. Lynda"

"   Mom is 91 years old, frail in body, unsteady on her feet and suffering from early stage dementia.  Mom lives alone and has always been a fiercely independent woman who, as a single parent, provided for her two children, at times holding down two jobs. Mom tries to take care of herself and her home as she has done in the past.  But when she collapsed in the bank and had to be carried by ambulance to the hospital, stumbled and fell in the street, and got lost and confused returning home from a shopping trip, I became concerned for Mom’s well-being and safety and realized, even if Mom didn’t, she needed assistance.    I interviewed several agencies offering homecare services, Home Instead Senior Care among them.  I chose Home Instead Senior Care.  Why? In addition to the service pricing being competitive with that of the other agencies, I was impressed by the fact that Marcia Johnson, director of the local agency I contacted, invited and encouraged Mom to take part in the discussion and decision-making contrary to the other agents who addressed their inquiries and attention solely to me. Mom and I had an association with Home Instead Senior Care for over a year and a half. We have nothing but high praise for the caregivers and the Home Instead Senior Care management.  From the onset, caregivers easily established a warm, caring, and respectful rapport with Mom.  This is noteworthy given the fact that Mom can at times be headstrong and difficult to work with. The caregivers were kind, patient, and reliable.  They provided the desired companionship and assistance with activities for daily living to enable Mom to remain comfortably and safely in her home.   I enthusiastically recommend Home Instead for Senior Care to anyone in need of the agency’s services and is concerned about matters of affordability and quality and compassionate care.  "

"Home Instead Senior Care is a delightful agency, and its employees. of course I haven't meet all of them but my favorite and dearest to me is Charmaine. She knocks herself out taking care of me and trying to please me. Nothing is too difficult; just say the word and she is right there on the job. The agency certainly does do an excellent job of making you feel comfortable. I would like to meet more of it employees ....maybe I will one day. "

"My mom is 97 years old and until recently has be totally independent. This year she had become a bit forgetful and needed some additional help. We looked to Home Instead Senior because my wife is a social worker and spoke highly of the agency. My mom uses the caregivers seven days from 10am to 2pm. She has one caregiver 5 days and another for  2 days. We have been extremely satisfied with both caregivers. They are always polite and arrive on time, even in the horrible winter weather. They  make sure my mom takes her meds and eats a hearty breakfast. They do some housekeeping for her and do her sheets once a week. They contact my sister or myself if they have any concerns and we can also reach them at any time. One of the caregivers noticed that my mom's balance had gotten a bit worse, so now they walk with her in the hallway of her building. The caregivers have become like family, they know my mom as well as I do. I strongly recommend Home Instead Senior Care. "
