Betty took a summer job working in a nursing home immediately out of high school before she went off to Ohio University to study Medical Dietetics that fall. She developed her passion for helping Seniors and became aware of the challenges they face with rehabilitation, isolation, moving out of their homes., family dynamics, the progression of geriatric disease and ailments but also the joy and vast experiences they have to share with those willing to listen. She worked at the same nursing home every summer and after graduation for a total of eight years. She continued her education in senior care by attending Franklin University to further her knowledge in Healthcare Management and Administration where she expanded her scope into managing a Senior Care facility. Betty found Home Instead Senior Care through a couple of local owners who educated and marketed the services to her for her clients and she thought "That's it, all these seniors need is a little help at home, and they can stay home forever." She started her Home Instead Senior Care September 1, 2008. Betty is married and has two adult children. The love of her life is Preston her 8-year-old Springer Spaniel who does come to the office and spend the day occasionally.
Melissa was drawn to the Home Instead Senior Care team through her passion for working with seniors. She has always known that she wanted to work with the senior population. Her favorite part about working at Home Instead is knowing that she is making a difference and improving the quality of life of local seniors in her community. Melissa attended Ohio University and received her Bachelor of Science with a focus in Exercise Physiology. After graduating, she moved back to Columbus and began her journey with Home Instead. In her role, she onboards clients, works with the family to create a care plan, keeps touch points with all parties involved in the care plan and does quality assurance through home visits and phone calls. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Sunday dinners with her family, and sailing when the weather is nice.
Steve is a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education. After graduating from Ohio University, Steve worked in post-secondary textbook publishing for over twenty-five years, earning various awards in Sales Excellence. What Steve enjoyed most was the fact that the educational materials he was representing helped students improve their lives and helped them to better their future. Because he has great passion to help others, it was easy for Steve to relate to Home Instead’s values right from the start. He feels proud that Home Instead is in the business of helping people stay in their homes safely and allows them to maintain an independent life style. Steve has been a part of the Home Instead team for three years and oversees the recruiting, interviewing and training of employees. He prides himself on helping our team grow both personally and professionally. Without him, it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t have the great team dynamic that we do today.

In three months, marks Vicki’s third year working at Home Instead Senior Care. As the CAREGiver Empowerment Coordinator, Vicki’s in charge of making sure all CAREGivers are following protocol and the plan of care, doing CAREGiver introductions and inspiring our CAREGivers to grow within their field. She is currently attending Daymar College to become a Medical Assistant and is a mother to her two grown sons. One of her favorite things about working at Home Instead is getting the opportunity to meet with her clients and hear about their stories from the past. She loves learning about who they are and where they come from; along with seeing how the world has changed from their perspective. Vicki is very creative and loves to paint, draw and do crafts; especially with her clients. Vicki’s kind heart and hard work makes for a great addition to the Home Instead team.
