Home Instead Senior Care is seeking a full time REGISTERED NURSE to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of services that allow senior to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care, and compassion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the core values of Gibson Care, Inc. (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).
  • Provide general supervision of In-home Aids ensuring quality service is provided to clients.
  • Conduct needs assessments for clients to ensure the needs of the client can be met by the agency's resources.
  • Create and regularly update the plan of care for clients according to Home Instead Senior Care of Iredell/Alexander County policies and applicable licensing regulations.
  • Ensure the In-home Aids have the competencies required for the clients to whom they are assigned.
  • Provide pre-service and in-service training for staff as needed.
  • Oversee the development of an Initial Plan of Care for each client.
  • Ensure that each plan of care is updated every 90 days.
  • Provide supervision of in-home Aids according to state regulations and Home Instead Senior Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Assure the provision of training and competency evaluations for In-home Aides.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of all required paperwork for the client's plan of care, Medicaid,VA, CAPS, Home Instead Senior Care policies and procedures and state/federal licensing and/or regulations.
  • Communicate client and CAREGiver concerns or problems with other staff members as appropriate. All communication is logged appropriately in Clear Care.
  • Ensure Home Instead Senior Care standards are met and upheld.
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with owner, colleagues and CAREGivers.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in quarterly CAREGiver meetings
  • Perform any and all other functions deemed necessary

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a currently licensed RN in good standing with the NC Board of Nursing. Preference given for a BSN.
  • Ability to provide supportive supervision to In-home aides and clients
  • Previous Home Health or In Home Care experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide quality training to staff and to provide an accurate assessment of the competencies of in-home Aides.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly and to handle a fast paced challenging environment.
  • Excellent business and personal references.
  • Experience with handling client concerns and a strong desire to provide the highest quality service.
  • Meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: Criminal history, motor vehicle driving record, credit history, and drug testing.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Professional integrity with no history of abuse toward a person.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by Gibson Care, Inc., (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise)
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Should have knowledge of the senior care industry
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly and yearly work
  • Must be able to establish good working relationships with management, colleagues, franchise owners and their staff
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to operate office equipment
  • Must be patient and congenial on the telephone
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel
  • Must be able to work evenings or weekends if required
  • Must be able to perform duties in a professional office setting
