Jean-Marc G. Mira is the President of Home Instead Senior Care and is responsible for making sure that the company maintains the highest standards of care for all its clients and follows strict guidelines and regulations under its Home & Community Support Services License issued by the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. Mr. Mira also serves as the company's sales person and marketer.
Mr. Mira was born in France, but spent his childhood growing up in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a Batchelor of Arts and later obtained his law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1993. Mr. Mira practiced law for approximately seven years. In 2002 he started his Home Instead Senior Care business where he has been working ever since. In 2010, Mr. Mira obtained his certification as a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA).
Nancy provides the training for all of our new CAREGivers. In addition, she works directly with the CAREGivers as the Engagement Supervisor. She knows how important it is to have caring and well-trained CAREGivers—she and her brother helped care for their mom through her 10 year battle with Alzheimer's. Nancy was born in Rhode Island, raised in California, and spent the last ten years in Pennsylvania before moving to the central Texas area in October of 2014. She retired in 2004 after serving 20 years as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy working as a Cardiovascular Technician. In 2010 she earned her Bachelor's degree in Healthcare from the University of Pittsburgh, and in 2012 a Master's in Education from Saint Vincent College. She is married to her wonderful (and very patient) husband Phil and they have one son. They love to travel, all things Disney and their 3 cats. Nancy joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in May of 2015.
Lisa joined the Home Instead family in 2015 as a CAREGiver and has been in her current role as of September 2016. Lisa's main responsibility is being the initial Home Instead contact for potential clients/client family members exploring options for caregiving services. Lisa personally introduces all CAREGivers to clients to ensure the CAREGiver and client are comfortable and familiar with the services being performed. Lisa also is prepared to work CAREGiving shifts if a CAREGiver has an emergency and cannot be present for their shift.
Lisa was born in Parker County, Texas at Fort Wolters Army Helicopter Base and grew up in Louisiana graduating from Thibodaux High School in 1991. She moved to New Braunfels in 2009 where she currently resides. Lisa completed her Associate Arts Degree from University of Phoenix in 2012. She worked in retail for a few years and completed training to become a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) in 2014. Upon graduation, she worked as a CNA at Eden Hill Communities in the Alzheimer/Dementia Unit where she gave her patients lot of TLC in addition to taking care of them. In 2015 she joined the Home Instead team as a CAREGiver and was recently promoted to her current position.
Lisa is the mother of three beautiful daughters, two in middle school and one in high school, who keep her busy with all their many band, choir, theater, and service activities. In addition, she has two active kitties who are both rescue cats. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys floating on the Comal and hanging out with her kids.
Jessica Baker is grateful to serve as the Client Care Manager for our Home Instead Senior Care office in New Braunfels, Texas. She is responsible for coordinating care services for new clients and ensuring the best possible care for everyone we assist. She offers referral sources and oversees ongoing care. Jessica was born and raised in small town Three Springs, Pennsylvania. She attended Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey where she studied Communications and Political Science. In 2005 she moved back to Pennsylvania where she pursued a career in retail management. She worked in this field for nine years before deciding to relocate to her home town. It was 2014 when she decided to make a career change. Always having a desire to help people, she began her career with IFC Services of Mount Union Pa, where she supervised a group home for individuals with intellectual disabilities. In April of 2017 she made the move from Pennsylvania to New Braunfels, Texas where she and her family are happy to call home.
Carla Zorowski is the Home Care Consultant for Home Instead Senior Care. Carla works with area physicians, home health agencies, hospice nurses and many other health care professionals to ensure community awareness of the services we offer Seniors as well as coordinate services among our clients' providers.
Carla was born in Evansville, IN and graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration. She received her Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She began her career with Karrington Health (purchased by Sunrise Senior Living) in Columbus, OH as Sales and Marketing Director in an Assisted Living Community. She continued in the Assisted Living industry in positions of Executive Director and Regional Operations Director in states including Ohio, New Mexico and Colorado. While taking a few years off from the Senior care industry, she volunteered in her kids' schools, was a substitute teacher and a private caregiver for an elderly couple. Most recently, Carla worked at Elan Westpointe as the Community Relations/Marketing Director under Life Care Services management company.
Carla is married with a son and daughter. They moved to Austin, TX from Cincinnati, OH in 2011. Then to New Braunfels, TX in 2014 where her husband's family has vacationed for more than 30 years. In her spare time, she likes to vacation on the beach and visit family and friends in Indiana and Ohio.
Novie joined the Home Instead Team in 2015 as a CAREgiver after spending several years traveling as an IT consultant for a healthcare software company. She has recently moved into the role of Service Inquiry Specialist and works directly with the General Manager in coordinating consults and services for clients. Novie also assist the Client Care Manager in coordinating client home visits. She enjoys being involved in all aspects of senior care – working with the client's, their families and all the Home Instead Caregivers and staff.
Novie grew up in Bogalusa, LA and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She is also a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Even though she visited many places in the United States with her traveling position, she calls New Braunfels home. Novie, her husband and children love the outdoors – and Texas offers plenty of beautiful places for her favorite – day hikes. Novie also enjoys teaching children at her church and spending time with friends.
Amber started her caregiving career as a private caregiver caring for children with terminal illnesses. She began working as a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care in 2015. Her favorite part of caring for seniors was helping them to improve their health, independence and happiness. She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Alamo Colleges in 2016. Amber was promoted to Service Coordinator in September 2017.
Amber was born in Ipswich, England and grew up in Germany. Being in a military family she had the opportunity to live in a variety of places around the world, including Hawaii. She and her son Kevin moved to New Braunfels in 2006. Amber is very creative and works exclusively in yarns and textiles making clothing and accessory items for people and animals. You may run into Amber and her mom selling their creations at Craft Fairs throughout the region. Amber's family also includes a menagerie of animals: 3 dogs; 2 cats; a snake; a turtle; a tortoise; a bearded dragon; and the latest addition—an adorable pot belly pig named Henry Francis!
Patsy was born in Dallas, Texas and graduated in 2013 from St. Edward's University in Austin with an associate degree and an LVN undergraduate degree. She is currently pursuing further education in Business Administration and in becoming a Registered Nurse.
Patsy recently moved to New Braunfels in July, 2018 prior to living in the small town of Castroville, Texas. Patsy's passion for senior care comes from caring for her father who was on hospice. Patsy says that caring for her father was the most rewarding caregiving experience she has ever encountered.
She is a mother of two children, her amazing daughter, Raina, and her fearless son Jake who both keep her very active with sports and school functions. In her spare time she enjoys attending church, being outdoors with family but mostly cheering for the Houston Astros!
Patsy joined the Home Instead family in August of 2018 as their Recruiting and Hiring Supervisor (RRC). She brings with her years of experience working for a hospice agency, performing tasks from scheduling and hiring to quality assurance. Home Instead is thankful to have her working in her role as RRC by scoping out talented and passionate CAREGivers that in turn care for Home Instead's clients with dignity and respect.
