Social work is an important helping profession that deserves recognition, so the National Association of Social Workers created National Social Work Month to recognize the valuable service social workers provide to our communities in Central Arkansas.

There are more than 600,000 social workers in the United States, and these highly-trained professionals are dedicated to helping all people, no matter who those people are or what circumstances have befallen them. You will find social workers in corporations, hospitals, clinics, police departments, homes and beyond.

Our Client Care Coordinator, Sarah Dempsey, has been with Home Instead Senior Care since October of 2014. She is a graduate from Harding University with a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling. While Sarah isn't a social worker, she has the heart of one and is one of several members of the Home Instead Senior Care Team who works closely with social workers to ensure we do what is best for potential clients and their families. You will find every member of the Home Instead Senior Care team listening to a family's stories and offerering suggestions on how we can help them through, often times, difficult situations. All working together, including with the client's family, we create a care plan that best suits one's particular needs.

Our goal is to create a safe environment for our clients so they can remain happy and independent in their own homes.

Other members of the Home Instead Senior Care Team are grateful for the work local social workers do, too. Every day that goes by you will find us with some of the best social workers in the world, right here in Central Arkansas. These people care about their patients. They want to know how things are going with their patients once discharged from a facility.

Home Instead Senior Care can say with pride we have provided more than two million hours of care in Pulaski, White and Lonoke counties. That's a direct result of the trust, teamwork and passion for serving we share with social workers.

So to all of you social workers who give everything you have to give to help someone every single day, we say thank you.
