Home Instead Senior Care® is on a mission to see more families share sit-down Sunday dinners with their senior loved ones. Check out our Sunday Dinner Pledge for our area families.

The reason?

Powerful new research shows that 50 percent of families living near senior relatives believe they do not share enough meals with these older loved ones, losing an important family connection. Our home care team is committed to help families across the country bring back Sunday dinner. Home Instead Senior Care has partnered with Food Network celebrity Chef Melissa d’Arabian to highlight the importance of regular family dinners. In addition, a dietitian for the Home Instead Senior Care network has developed easy, nutritious recipes and healthy food plans.

Other resources include tips for how to involve seniors in meal planning and preparation, pre- and post-dinner activities and suggestions for senior friendly meal planning at home or away.

Most people agree that planning a weekly Sunday dinner with the family is a great goal. But after a busy week at work and home, preparing a family dinner could be daunting. You could start with a monthly dinner, then move towards a weekly Sunday dinner. The key is to get started and have dinner together again
