Know the Symptoms

A key to keeping yourself, as well as all those around you, safe during this critical time with the coronavirus pandemic, is knowing symptoms if you have become infected with the virus.  Signs of illness have ranged from mild to severe, including death.  Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

The key symptoms to look out for are:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms or have been exposed to anyone who is having symptoms, the first step you need to take is self-quarantine.  Then contact your medical doctor or use the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) online Coronavirus Self-Checker to help you make the decision if you need to go out and seek appropriate medical care.

If you present emergency warning signs for the coronavirus get medical attention immediately. These emergency warning signs could include:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in chest
  • New confusion or fatigue
  • Bluish lips or face

This list may not include all the signs of emergency.  Please continually consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that may seem severe or concerning.
