  3. 4-Critical-Steps-to-Protect-Yourself-Against-COVID-19

With the active spread of the corona virus throughout Indiana, Home Instead Senior Care has taken extra steps in communicating with our Covid-19 CAREGivers about the importance of following recommended safety precautions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Currently, there is no vaccine to prevent corona virus disease 2019 (COVID 19), so the CDC offers  4 critical steps to take to protect yourself against COVID 19:

  1. Know How the Corona Virus Spreads
    • The virus is primarily thought to spread from person-to-person between people who are in close contact (within 6 feet)
    • Infected persons can spread the virus through respiratory droplets when they cough or sneeze
  2. Clean Your Hands Often
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, cough or sneezing
    • Use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water is not available
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth if your hands are not clean
  3. Avoid Close Contact
    • The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus and avoid close contact with people who are sick
    • Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet) if you’re out in public, especially if COVID 19 is spreading in your community
  4. Clean and Disinfect
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touch surfaces often throughout the day, including countertops, doorknobs, light switches, tables, phones, faucets, sinks.
    • The corona virus can remain active on surfaces for several hours

Visit the CDC for more tips on how to Protect Yourself from COVID 19.
