"I chose Caregiving because I feel that's what God has called me to do. After caring for my grandma until she passed away I seen the need for CAREGivers in the world. To experience the aging part to being there for them until the end is something in my heart that bring me joy to be a part of. I'm a mother of 5 beautiful kids. My life is dedicated to my kids & my clients I have a twin brother and a younger brother who is 7 feet tall! I believe in kindness & compassion. I believe we all have a story but strive to do better today than I did yesterday!

My name is Lorena and I moved to Crestline 7 years ago. I have 2 sons and 2 daughters with a total of 8 grandchildren. I have a mini York terrier named Charlie that I love like another son. If I am not working you can find me out and about, because I don't really like to stay home. When I do spend time with family, I love to take pictures to show everyone. My favorite tv shows are I Love Lucy, The Walking Dead, Everybody Loves Raymond and Shirley Temple classics.
Living in Crestline away from my family was hard for me in the beginning, I wanted to keep myself busy and start a new career path. I found HISC through my son who was working for them in another location at the time. I chose caregiving because I saw the love, care, and protection of the one thing I cherish most in my life, Family.
"I chose Caregiving because I have respect and admiration for older people. I think we all can learn a lot from them. Every person is different in many ways and everyone has their own personality and great stories. I enjoy helping others, everyone deserves to live the last part of their life being happy and enjoying all their great memories. When I am not working, I as a single Father enjoy every moment that I spend with my family. I'm an easy-going person, Love diversity and all cultures. Love animals and open door activities. I enjoy talking to people about their own experiences in life and I use music to remember places and memories of the past.

Meet our CAREGiver of the Month for February
"Caregiving chose me. All the years of taking care of my parents. Wanting the best life for them in their last years, to make the process of aging easier for them and taking care of all the things they couldn't do anymore. It was all worth it at the end, when they were able to stay in their home. I want that for all my clients and love to be able to help them achieve the best quality of life possible. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family on road trips, concerts, and vacations.
Fun facts about myself? I like to think I am a good listener, I enjoy reading, and my nickname is Lolo!"
Congratulations to Dolores who was chosen for February's CAREGiver of the Month! She is always ready to take on any client no matter the severity of the case. She does amazingly well with clients with severe Alzheimer's or Dementia and can quickly diffuse any situation that arises. Dolores has been with us for over 4 years and has an excellent work ethic; she can always be counted on by her clients to be there for them. Her clients' family speak very highly of her and we cannot express how much we appreciate her here at Home Instead Senior Care!
"I chose caregiving because I enjoy making people laugh. Caregiving allows me to feel like I'm making a small difference in someone's life by bringing them a little bit of Joy."
"5 Fun facts about myself: I enjoy weight lifting, I do Spartan races, I enjoy most outdoor activities, you can always find me laughing, and even though I'm terrible at it I love to sing!"

We are very proud to announce our CAREGiver of the Month for December 2019 is Terri E! Terri just started her career with Home Instead in April of 2019, but has already worked a total of over 800 hours with us so far! Terri is one of our hardest-working CAREGivers, and she's such a big help to our Staffing department. Her clients have nothing but wonderful things to tell us when Terri cares for them. When she's not busy working, you can find her volunteering at both her local police department and elementary school, or relaxing in her garden. Congratulations again to Terri, and we thank you for all that you do!
Matt was proudly chosen as CAREGiver of the month of November 2019. Matt has been with Home Instead since 2014 and stayed with us until 2018. He had wanted to retire from work and enjoy staying home. However, that did not last too long because he decided he wasn't ready to stop working and came back in January of this year. When he was first hired on in 2014 he had no experience with CAREGiving but came with a passion for helping the elderly. He was with a longtime veteran client until he passed away. The family of this veteran were so grateful for Matt for not only providing care but also being another male companion and friend to someone who was surrounded by women. Since then, Matt has been with multiple veterans who have befriended him because Matt is also a veteran and he finds common ground and bonds with them. He has also worked with some difficult male clients who also just needed another male presence to be friends and be comfortable with. He is a shining example of what Home Instead looks for in a CAREGiver.
