Lexington, Kentucky - Fayette County

I want to thank you so much for your attention to detail and let you know how very much we appreciate the flexibility of your staff. Every caregiver you have sent our way has been especially wonderful, professional and most of all caring. We find the caregivers easy to work with and enjoy their company as much as my mom does.

Lexington's Home Instead Senior Care franchise team possesses a heartfelt desire to work with seniors in our community. It's the reason why we were chosen to serve seniors and their families.  Collectively, our team represents board membership and involvement in many community groups including Faith in Action, Bluegrass Continuity of Care Association, Bluegrass Area on Aging Consortium, BlueGrass Elder Abuse Council, Challenges and Opportunities of Aging, to name a few.

Community outreach is essential to our success.   Each year, our agency organizes and sponsors the Be A Santa To A Senior program, which generates gifts for social service agencies to distribute to needy seniors during the holiday season.  We are also a monthly participant in the Lexington Senior Citizen's Center Now You Know program.  Other sponsorships include the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk and the Fayette County Extension Office:  Next Best Years Conference.

When you're ready for help, our caring staff is on call to quickly answer your questions and accommodate your senior services needs.  Marilyn Harr and Leatrice Smathers are available by calling 859-273-0085.

Rich Berube - Owner

It's personal to me because I've had to make that call to someone you don't know, and ask them to care for your parents. My mom has Alzheimers' and my 83-year-old dad was recovering from heart surgery not long ago. I felt so relieved that I could place my trust in the owner and staff of a HomeInstead office in another state. They did a great job, and my dad loved his CAREGiver! It's also personal to me because I've spent the bulk of my 30-year career in health care, either running health not-for-profits, or helping physician organizations grow for improved clinical and operational results. My personal mission is to provide you and your family with the best-trained, most compassionate CAREGivers, so that the seniors we love can stay independent, active, and safe in their homes or wherever they may be.

Gabriel Huffman – Executive Director

“To me it’s personal” because I see our seniors as a priceless asset and view their life experience, knowledge, and wisdom as an invaluable resource. I approach each client that I provide service to as if they were my own family and handle their care with the same compassion and caring as I would for my parents or grandparents. It is extremely rewarding for me to work with a company and a staff of caring and devoted people that continually strive to change the face of aging through providing a service of the highest quality that helps seniors stay in the place they call home for as long as possible.

Marilyn Harr – Client Care Director

Caring for seniors is very personal to me. I have spent most of my life caring for others. My work with Home Instead has enabled me to get to know and build relationships with seniors and their families. Maintaining relationships and caring for seniors is how we put our clients first.
When the care for someone who needs it is at stake I take that very seriously. We are in the business of serving others and I believe we serve them with love and compassion.

Whitney Villasana - Client Care Coordinator

To me, it’s personal because I can go to work knowing that I am making a difference in other’s lives. Caring for those who once cared for us is an honor. I feel privileged to have the opportunity of doing my very best to help them stay in the place they call home.

Blair Huffman – Human Resources Director

It's personal to me because I believe it is important to be caring to all.  I studied Therapeutic Recreation in college and see how much need there is to provide excellent services to our seniors.  What a fascinating generation full of wisdom and knowledge.  I believe in the services we provide and know that Home Instead Senior Care offers a higher standard of care that will greatly benefit any senior in need of assistance.

Jessica Biermann - Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

It’s personal to me because, as a 6 year old girl in Germany, I helped my grandmother who had severe arthritis in her hands and knees. I assisted her with getting dressed in the morning and it just felt nice to help her even though she was very independent. At that young age I realized that I loved to help take care of seniors and learned quickly how rewarding it felt to care for them. Throughout my career with Home Instead, I have seen how we take each client personally and provide them with the best care possible.

Jean "Gigi" Barnett – Client Billing Specialist

It’s personal to me because I believe in the services Home Instead Senior Care provides. Even if help is needed, there is a peace of mind knowing there are options to stay in your home for as long as possible. Home Instead Senior Care has high standards for all their employees. That is a huge comfort knowing that not just anyone would be providing care for loved ones. The care being provided is the BEST possible care in today’s society.
