Geoffrey opened the Home Instead Senior Care franchise serving the western half of Cuyahoga County in December of 1998. From the very beginning it was apparent that Home Instead's service was destined to become a much-valued option for seniors. Back then, having a local, professional, and caring provider that enabled seniors to remain in their own homes was unique. Of course, the desire of seniors to remain in their own homes and be independent has not diminished over the last two decades. More than ever, seniors and their families appreciate the attention to detail, individualized Care Plans, superb matching of clients and CAREGivers, and the responsive office staff they've come to rely on through Home Instead Senior Care.
Prior to opening the Home Instead offices, Geoffrey worked as a Special Administrative Assistant at Kendal at Oberlin, a Continuing Care Retirement Community. He holds an MBA (Specializing in Healthcare Administration) from Cleveland State University. He also earned a Certificate in Gerontological Studies while finishing the MBA program. He is a graduate of Capital University.
Shannon joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2006 after being a stay at home mother to her daughter. She developed a passion for helping seniors stay in their homes after witnessing the care her own family provided for her grandmother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease when she was just 60 years old. Shannon and her family enhanced the quality of life of Grandmother Glennie Bell for 13 years while she lived happily in her home with her husband Edward. This experience gave Shannon firsthand knowledge of the challenges families face when caring for a loved one. It is her hope that every family discovers that home care is often the best option for seniors. As a Client Care Coordinator, she is eager to share her personal and professional experience to help families benefit from successful home care.
Kathy was born and raised
in Cleveland and joined our team early in 2016. Prior to graduating nursing school,
she was a Home Health Aide for 10 years. Relying on her background as a nurse in
hospice care, Kathy helps create Care Plans for our clients and assures our
quality via in-home visits and consultations with families. Additionally, she
is involved with the initial and on-going training of our CAREGivers. A strong proponent
of home care, Kathy’s commitment to our clients and CAREGivers is focused
squarely on good outcomes. Through her knowledge, experience, and insight, we tailor
our care such that our clients will remain in their homes for as long as they
desire to stay.
Tom is a seasoned health care professional with over 31 years of experience that includes 22 years of exceptional service to the senior community in Northeast Ohio. As a Home Care Consultant and our Senior Marketing Director, he enjoys promoting Home Instead's ability to enhance the lives of aging adults. When Tom meets with clients, families, and our referral providers, he does so with the knowledge that Home Instead continually provides in-home care that exceeds their expectations. He is a senior advocate who loves to visit and spend time with his clients and their families. Tom has a business degree from Kent State University.
Diane joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2012 after providing eleven years of administrative support in a long-term care facility. In her role as Client Care Coordinator, she meets with clients and family members to identify needs and develop individually tailored Care Plans. Diane loves seniors and finds working with them a life-enhancing experience. She especially enjoys the meaningful interaction she shares with our clients, their families, and the caregivers who support them.
Our receptionist, Toni, is a 35-year veteran in the healthcare field. She joined our Home Instead team in 2014 and since that time has personally answered nearly every call that comes into our office. As the first point of contact, she knows it is extremely important for the caller to perceive she's sincerely interested in assisting them with their questions and concerns. Toni provides the calm and reassuring voice that let's every caller know they've called the right place.
Sue worked in a long-term care
facility for 10 years before joining Home Instead in 2014. She enjoys working
with seniors and finds it very rewarding to help keep seniors in their own homes.
As an Administrative Assistant, Sue is responsible for CAREGiver payroll but
also assists with staffing and quality assurance.
Since 2013 Erin has been the Staff Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care. Erin works with CAREGivers, clients, and their families to create schedules that will suit their needs and meet expectations. Having worked at an assisted living facility at an early age (16), Erin has been helping seniors for 15 years. One thing her longevity in the senior care field has taught her is that seniors don't like change. Her role is to monitor our care schedules and keep the "bumps in the road" to an absolute minimum. Erin keeps things running smoothly and gives our senior clients something they truly appreciate: predictability.
