A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family. 

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

November 2017 - Eileen

November 2017 - Eileen

Home Instead Senior Care is pleased to announce that Eileen is our November CAREGiver of the month! We are happy to share this moment with you all. Eileen’s continuous dedication and caring performance to our clients is one of many reasons for this special award presented.
Eileen has consistently puts her best effort forth when working with her clients. She builds trust with her clients by showing them she is there for them, and that they can count on her for anything they need during their time together. Eileen is punctual, reliable, and always provides the support needed for her clients. Eileen is very personable which allows her to create special bonds with her clients.

Eileen takes the lead by ensuring her clients are as comfortable as possible. She is very good at expressing any concerns or any changes regarding her clients to the office.

Eileen shares her heart by always going above and beyond for her clients. She runs errands for the clients to the grocery store and always offers to adjust her work schedule to be able to escort her clients to doctors and specialists appointments.

Congratulations Eileen, thank you for being such an outstanding CAREGiver!

We are pleased to announce that Ishani is our October 2017 CAREGiver of the Month!

Ishani takes the lead by always calling the office when there's a change in one of her clients’ health status.  Her judgement calls are on point and she knows when to intervene when her client needs her. She also knows when she is being asked to cross a boundary and makes sure to run everything by the office and ask for direction.

Ishani builds trust by always being on time for all of her shifts. She always arrives early with a big smile on her face ready to work! She is a great example of an amazing CAREGiver!

Ishani shares her heart everyday with all her clients. She is empathetic and understands what her clients are going through and what their needs are. She brings energy and enthusiasm to an environment and always wants to do her best to brighten up the day for her senior!

The office constantly receives positive feedback from all Feyisayo’s clients letting us know how happy they are to have her as their CAREGiver. Feyisayo continues to go above and beyond in any given situation and we are all grateful for this. Feyisayo builds trust with her clients by always being so flexible with her schedule. Her clients always know they can count on her to be there especially in times of need.

Taking the Lead is something that is very important for Feyisayo. She is someone who wants to make sure she adheres to policies & 
procedures and follows through on all her commitments to her client and her client’s family.

Feyisayo shares her heart by simply allowing her clients to share their own hearts. Her clients are comfortable voicing their concerns and expressing their emotions and Feyisayo is exceptional at knowing how to respond.

Ethel is our August CAREGiver of the Month and has had many success stories with her clients. Building Trust is one way she achieves this success. She is extremely thorough when executing her tasks and knows when to ask the right questions and express her concerns while keeping her client’s dignity intact.
Ethel Takes the Lead by adjusting her own personal schedule to accommodate her client’s schedule whenever hours change. She always responds to our calls and emails in a timely manner and is consistent with her schedule. 
Sharing her Heart
 comes naturally to Ethel with her charming personality and beautiful smile. Ethel is firm in her approach but knows how to do this by relating to her client’s preferences in a special way. Ethel is a valuable asset to our ‘Home Instead Senior Care Team’ and is therefore truly deserving of this award.

Home Instead Senior Care is pleased to announce that Judith is our July 2017 CAREGiver of the month! We are extremely thrilled to share this moment with you all. Judith’s continuous dedication and caring demeanor to her client is just a couple of the many reasons she is receiving this award.

Judith not only provides the level of care we expect but is always professional and is immediately perceived as a loyal CAREGiver. She builds trust with her client by showing she is there for him and that he can count on her for whatever he may need during their time together. Judith is punctual, reliable, and always provides the support her client needs especially when reporting any changes with her client.

She takes the lead by continuously ensuring her client is comfortable in any environment. She shows initiative in taking the time to get to know her client, so she is able to engage and participate in activities that her client enjoys. She also advises the office of the client's evolving needs and any concerns that maybe present. She makes the difference in her client’s life and embraces the responsibility and cherishes it
She shares her heart by showing her great personality from the first visit as she treats her client with the upmost respect, care and loyalty. Her compassion to her client definitely shows and proves that she is in the right field!

The office constantly receives positive feedback from all her clients letting us know how happy they are to have Hyacinth as their CAREGiver. Hyacinth’s continuous hard work and providing a high level of care for all of her clients are just a couple reasons why we are recognizing her this month. 

Hyacinth builds trust with her clients by being there for them as a warm, empathetic, supportive, helping hand and is always consistent in her care. Her clients always know they can count on her for being there and being on time. 

Hyacinth takes the lead by always ensuring her clients are as comfortable as they can be and is very reliable in reporting concerns early so her clients’ are looked after properly by calling into the office to communicate when the client would like to adjust a visit. Hyacinth is very honest and will let the office and her clients know when she is available and when she is not, which is very helpful!

Hyacinth shares her heart through her giving personality and the smile on her face; she shows her clients she wants nothing but the best for them! She has a down to earth personality and takes the time to interact and do activities with her clients! 

The feedback from her clients is continuously so positive that we wanted to recognize Hyacinth’s dedication and hard work by acknowledging her as CAREGiver of the Month!

Home Instead is pleased to announce that Snow Zhao is the May 2017 CAREGiver of the month! Snow’s continuous hard work and dedication to our seniors is one of many reasons she is receiving this special award. 
Snow builds trust by ensuring she learns as much as she possibly can about her client beforehand and while she is at her shifts. This gives her the tools to guarantee her clients are always happy and comfortable when receiving care. 
Snow takes the lead by always ensuring her clients are as comfortable as they can be and is very reliable in reporting concerns early so her clients’ are looked after properly. Snow has shown to always go above and beyond to help them in any way she possibly can. She is efficient when providing updates to the office and always on time for her shifts. She asks questions when she needs to ensure she is prepared well in advance. 
Snow shares her heart with her amazing approach in always ensuring her client's needs are met. She always tries to do more for her clients to show them she is there for them and she always will be. Snow’s compassion and humbleness show that she is dedicated to always ensuring her clients are happy.

Thaw’s hard work and dedication to her clients are just a few of the many reasons she is selected to be the CAREGiver of the Month for May!

Thaw not only provides the level of care we expect but approaches it in a very professional and loyal manner. She builds trust with our seniors by showing she is there for them and they can count on her for whatever they may need. Thaw is punctual, reliable, and always provides the support her clients need. Her faithful personality grows easily with our seniors and becomes one of their favourite things about her.

Thaw takes the lead by always ensuring her clients are as comfortable as they can be and is very reliable in reporting concerns early so her clients’ are looked after properly. She goes above and beyond by taking the time to get to know her clients, learns what the clients likes and will find activities they can do together. Her touching personality keeps our seniors happy and at peace.

Thaw shares her heart with her empathy. She shows she can ensure quality of life for all of her clients. She promises great care by letting them know they can always depend on her should they need anything. She has a good sense of humor and is always able to put a smile on her client’s faces. Her loyalty to her clients is one of many great attributes Thaw possesses and we hope to create many more memories with our seniors!

We continually receive great feedback from Gracy’s clients, and it is apparent to us that she builds trust with seniors by respecting them as an individual.  She is punctual and flexible with her availability and this consistency of her time and attendance makes her clients feel safe. She provides and adjusts the support needed for her client and her lovely, caring personality helps her client feel they are in great hands.

Gracy takes the lead by constantly ensuring her clients are comfortable and calm in all atmospheres. Her lively personality keeps her clients engaged and happy. Gracy also advises the office of the client's evolving needs and any concerns as well as shows initiative, getting to know them on a more personal level as to what is important and interesting to them so they are fully engaged.

Gracy shares her heart by engaging her clients and honouring them; she is the bright spot in their day and is considered part of their family.  Her clients say that she is a great listener and is always able to share a laugh with them. Thank you for making your seniors smile!

Her warm disposition, kind smile and genuine talent sets Bev apart from the average CAREGiver.  She always arrives early for her shifts and families know that they can count on her to be there for their loved ones. The peace of mind that clients rave about demonstrates her ability to build trust with the whole family.

We can count on Bev to take the lead by advising the office of the client's evolving needs and any concerns as well as shows initiative, getting to know her clients on a more personal level as to what is important and interesting to them so they are fully engaged.

Bev consistently shares her heart with whomever she comes in contact with. She puts the families at ease knowing they are in good care. This is more than a job to her, she wants to give back and she certainly does so by exercising the guiding principles and more. She consistently invests in building strong relationships.

Khadija consistently builds trust with her clients by being timely and dependable. This is very beneficial to her seniors because it gives them something that they can count on and minimizes any potential anxiety.
Khadija’s attention to detail is shown through her clear and concise log notes.  We can count on Khadija to take the lead when required to provide home help or personal care to any client.
When Khadija accepts an assignment the entire office is confident in her ability to exceed the expectations of the Care Plan.  Her patience and compassion are proof of her ability to share her heart and provide world class care.  With no indifference, Khadija is a CAREGiver that continues to exceed the status quo and deliver service excellence.

Erika is able to Build Trust by being someone her seniors can count on. She has developed relationships and gets to know the clients personally so she can ensure their needs are being met.
She takes the lead by providing individual care and dedicating herself to her assignments. She does not have to be asked to complete tasks and she enjoys making clients smile. 
Finally, Erika shares her heart by being genuine in her affection towards her clients, and they are always happy to see her.   Their feedback is always positive and they look forward to seeing her return.

Rolla consistently builds trust by keeping detailed log notes and notifying the office when new notes are needed, reporting concerns and forming genuine relationships with her clients.

Rolla takes the lead by accepting new seniors into her life and adjusting her schedule. There are days where Rolla will extend her shifts and/or switch days around to meet their needs. Rolla is exceptional at having fluid communication with the Home Instead Senior Care office.

Finally, Rolla shares her heart with her reassuring nature which minimizes any anxiety of the seniors lives she is involved with.

Natysha consistently builds trust with Home Instead Senior Care by staying in touch with the office with the seniors she goes to visit and updates the office immediately on any new or sudden change that may occur.

The way Stephanie shares her heart with her seniors appears to be so natural for her. She has a gentle spirit that definitely makes her clients smile as she arrives at their homes.  Her calming voice and gift to connect with each senior she cares for is truly special.  Stephanie’s clients are her priority and she has a loyalty to their needs and a commitment to exceeding their expectations.  Stephanie takes the lead with her clients by thinking out-side of the box to come up with great ideas and adventures that they can do together, and that the client would enjoy!  Thank you, Stephanie, for giving so much of yourself every day!!

Has been a CAREGiver with us since September 2014.  We are so lucky to have Michelle on our team.  Michelle has made such impact on so many seniors’ lives.  She has bought groceries, cooked fresh homemade meals and cleaned their homes. Most importantly, she builds trust with her seniors and the office. Shelly S has been caring for one of our ladies for a number of months now.  I remember when they first met. The senior was very resistant and rather bothered about the visits.  It took time, but Shelly S took the lead and patiently offered care and companionship in such a calming, non-threatening way.  This senior now opens her door and her arms to Shelly S.  She has built trust in such a wonderful way. Shelly S always shares her heart with the office by keeping us thoroughly updated on the emotional status of her client and how she feels she can help.

Sandra M started her journey with Home Instead almost 2 years ago and since then she has worked almost 1000 hours with clients of varying needs, from companionship to Alzheimer’s Care.  Sandra M takes the lead and shows initiative by getting to know her clients and what is important and interesting to them so that her visits and conversations are engaging.  These conversations are an exchange of their memories and her own personal experiences and demonstrates how easily she is able to share her heart.   Families are truly grateful to have Sandra M caring for their loved ones.  She is reliable, responsible and professional; conscientious about the details of new assignments, asking for clarity whenever necessary and always on time - building trust is her primary focus!

Lucelia T takes the lead when it comes to caring for her clients. She  also ensures that she arrives at   every shift on time and never misses a day; she is reliable responsible and professional! Lucelia T ensures that her elderly and disabled clients are always well tended to and taken care of. Her diligence has made the     family members of her clients       relieved that their loved ones are well cared for. Thanks for always being there for your clients, Lucelia!

Lori has invested almost 1000 hours of care with our seniors. She builds trust with her clients by staying with them until, whatever time, their family arrives home. If a client’s family is ever delayed for any reason, she contacts the office to advise us that she will stay with the client until someone comes home in order to ensure that the client is safe. Lori always keeps us “in the know” with any client she sees. Lori takes the lead by keeping constant contact with the office. She shares her heart by utilizing small gestures like pulling out a client’s chair, exchanging stories and engaging in laughter. It’s the little things that Lori does and we are very grateful to have her on our team. Thank-you Lori!

I want to thank you so much for your attention to detail and let you know how very much we appreciate the flexibility of your staff. Every caregiver you have sent our way has been especially wonderful, professional and most of all caring. We find the caregivers easy to work with and enjoy their company as much as my mom does.

Elaine has been with Home Instead Senior Care since November 13th, 2013. In this time she has made a strong and positive impression on her clients, peers, and employers. Lori is a newer addition to our team of companions, but a natural born caregiver at heart. She takes the lead by keeping Home Instead Senior Care, as well as the facility her client resides in, informed of any relevant issues to ensure quality care is being given. Recently Lori even went out of her way, on her own time, to take a visiting family member of her clients around town to run some errands. She was concerned that they may get lost because they were not familiar with Hamilton and live overseas. The family was truly appreciative of this act of kindness and this is just one example of how Lori never passes up an opportunity to share her heart with others. Even the facility where her client resides has complemented her on her thoughtfulness and professionalism. Thank you Lori for going the extra mile! We appreciate you and all that you do!

We are very fortunate to have Tricia join our Home Instead Team. In the few months that she has been with us, she has Built Trust with both her clients and the office by always being very reliable and dependable. She has a willingness to serve others and is always taking on extra shifts or helping out when a need arises. Tricia goes the extra mile for the seniors and their families that she cares for to make sure they are comfortable both physically and emotionally. Taking care of her clients is not a job for Tricia, but a genuine passion and that is why the seniors she looks after adore her and enjoy spending time with her telling their life stories. James has become a real asset to our team and there is never a time that he will not offer to help when there is a need both in the office or with his clients. Many of his assignments have been challenging and he has always approached them with patience, understanding and compassion. James is a reliable and dependable CAREGiver with a strong work ethic, who always tries new ways to engage his clients or share new activities with them. Sihle has been a CAREGiver for over 10 years, working in a variety of environments.  Accordingly, she has a broad skill-set and brings a wealth of experience to every senior she cares for.  She has a very optimistic and gentle  approach towards her clients, their families and her co-workers. You can always count on Sihle to help out where needed, even if it is last minute and you can trust her to put the needs of her clients first. Just talking to and spending time with Sihle seems to brighten her clients day. She is like a ray of sunshine when she enters a room and it is a pleasure to work with her to help the seniors in our community age safely wherever they call home.

Elaine connects with her clients out of a genuine compassion and concern for their health and welfare.  She shares her heart by making the needs of these seniors her top priority.  Elaine takes the lead by consistently informing the office of any changes with her clients, physically or emotionally, and if there are any necessary changes to their Care Plan that will benefit them and their families. Elaine is a real team player and there is never been a time that she turned down a shift or the opportunity to help someone in need. We have come to rely on Elaine and are  proud to have her as one of our CAREGivers and I know all of her clients and their families would agree.


April 2014 - Susan

Susan is a natural born CAREGiver and she pays close attention to meeting the needs of her clients and following all aspects of the care plan. She takes the lead by ensuring the family and Home Instead is aware of any relevant concerns with her clients or about any suggestions to the care plan that would benefit them. Susan is a very caring and compassionate caregiver who devotes her time by sharing her heart. She takes her job very seriously and is always wanting to learn new things. Susan recently completed our extensive Cares Program, where she learned more skills to help support our clients and their families who are dealing with Alzheimer's disease and Dementia. Rhodelyn has a very kind and gentle way about her and she is very dedicated to helping her clients remain engaged and age safely in their home. Her many years of experience as a nurse has given her the ability to handle any situation with a calm and empathetic approach. Rhodelyn is hard working and never turns down an opportunity to help, where needed. She recently volunteered her and her daughters time for our "Be A Santa To a Senior campaign" ,which put smiles on many seniors faces this holiday season. It is a pleasure to work with such a thoughtful and special CAREGiver and Rhodelyn really exemplifies our guiding values which are: Building Trust, Taking the Lead and Sharing her Heart.

Santana always comes to work with a positive attitude and a smile on her face to brighten her client's day. She takes the lead by suggesting and encouraging the seniors that she visits, to engage in activities in which they really enjoy based on their interests and hobbies. Santana is educated and trained as a Community Service Worker which helps her create memories, share stories and communicate not only with her clients, but their families as well. Everyday she comes to work ready to make a difference, whether it is helping her fellow CAREGivers by picking up extra shifts or finding new ways to meet the needs of seniors in our community. Santana is a true delight to work with and a real asset to our team.

Sandra has many years of experience taking care of seniors and we were very fortunate when she joined our team back in September of this year.She has a calming personality and a natural ability to care for people even in stressful situations. I think it is her ability to empathize with her clients that makes her a shining star. Sandra takes the lead by making suggestions that will benefit the client or trying new approaches to solve difficult problems. She is always helping out her fellow CAREGivers by picking up extra shifts or by giving the office flexible availability to meet our clients needs. Sandra is always friendly, has a positive attitude towards others and you have to smile just talking to her because of her sense of humour. It is wonderful working with her and and her clients feel the same way.

Walter is such an asset to our team and such a delight to work with . He builds trust with the family and client he is currently with by always showing up on time, reporting any concerns in a timely fashion and keeping in good communication with the office. Walter is a very respectful, compassionate and caring person and he shares his heart by treating his client like he would his own family. He has gone the extra mile by bringing in music and books from home that he knew his client would enjoy just to make him feel more comfortable in his new surroundings. Both the facility Walter works out of and the family of his client can't say enough good things about what a great job he has done and the difference he is making. Walter is a true team player by picking up extra shifts and helping out when asked to do extra tasks. We are very proud to have Walter as part of our team and we can all learn from his example.
