Home Instead Senior Care Featured on Forbes’ 2017 Best Employers ListOMAHA, Neb. – May 9, 2017 – Forbes' third annual "America's Best Employers" list has named Home Instead Senior Care one of its best employers for 2017. The list was generated using anonymous feedback from employees at the nation's top employers.

Companies on the Best Employers' list range across 25 different industry sectors – from government services to retail to healthcare. While the 2017 list featured a variety of healthcare companies, Home Instead is the only provider of home care services for seniors.

Participants were asked 35 questions about work-related topics, including whether employees would recommend their employer – with additional weight given to this particular question.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Working in a home with pets (cats and dogs)
  • Provide transportation to errands and appointments

Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner

  • Possess a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license and valid auto insurance

RN Supervisor/Educator

Job Details

For 17 years Home Instead Senior Care of Charlotte has enriched the lives of seniors in Mecklenburg County. We are currently seeking an RN Supervisor/Educator who has a passion for seniors to join our team. The ideal candidate will have care management and some teaching/facilitating experience. 



Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care training to CNA and In-Home Aides in the classroom and lab settings.
  • Provide general supervision of CNA and In-Home Aides ensuring quality service is provided to clients.
  • Conduct needs assessments for clients in their homes to ensure the needs of the client can be met by the agency's resources
  • Create and regularly update the plan of care for clients according to company policies and applicable licensing regulations
  • Ensure that CNA and In-Home Aides have the competencies required for the clients whom they are assigned.
  • Provide pre-service and in-service training for staff as needed
  • Ensure that company is compliant at all times with NC state licensure requirements
  • Ensure that each plan of care is updated every 90 days.
  • Provide on-call support for CNA and In-Home Aides and Clients as needed.
  • Available 10-15 hours per week, hours and day flexible.
Qualifications
  • Must be currently licensed RN in good standing with the NC Board of Nursing
  • Ability to provide supportive supervision to CNA and In-Home Aides and clients.
  • Ability to provide quality training to staff and to accurately assess the competencies of CNA and In-Home Aides
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly and the handle a fast paced work environment.
  • Must be highly organized and proficient in computer skills
  • Experience with handling client concerns and a strong desire to provide the highest quality service
  • Meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: Criminal history, motor vehicle driving record, and drug testing.
  • Professional integrity with no history of abuse toward a person
