Be a Santa to a Senior

We received this kind thank- you letter from the Charlotte Housing Authority, our partner for Be a Santa to a Senior program:

"There are not words to express my gratitude for you and your partners did for some of the seniors in public housing not just this Christmas, but for the past 10 years: the beautifully wrapped gifts, the songs, the kindness, the warmth the caring. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In this season of giving, where the bright faces of children are seen as the symbol of joy, I am deeply grateful that you and your partners remember the value that seniors add to our community, and make sure they are treasured, not forgotten."

Over the past 11 years Home Instead Charlotte's Be a Santa to a Senior Program has provided over 30,000 gifts to more than 10,000 seniors in Mecklenburg County.

This program is possible because of our partnership with hundreds of corporate sponsors and customers of Dilworth Coffee.

Names of isolated and financially challenged seniors are supplied to us by Friendship Trays, the Charlotte Housing Authority and other community organizations.

Some of our corporate sponsors who have supplied thousands of gifts over the years include:

  • North Mecklenburg Senior Center
  • HDR Engineering
  • BB&T Insurance Services
  • The Christensen Agency
  • Tile Collection
  • Temple Beth El
  • The Regency Retirement Community
  • Atria Merrywood
  • Jaylene Moss, CPA
  • Chobani Yogurt
  • The ABEO Group
  • Mythic (formerly Red F Marketing)
  • The Employer's Association
  • Better Business Bureau
