 Objective:

Home Instead Senior Care CAREGivers provide a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their homes. These services are meant to enhance the quality of life for seniors. Home Instead Senior Care CAREGivers help clients and their families meet the challenges of aging with dignity, pride, care and compassion.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reflect the core values of Royal Duchess Elder Care Ltd. d.b.a Home Instead Senior Care
  • Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client’s quality of life
  • Document daily activities and report any significant changes in a client’s needs or living conditions
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor and office staff

 

  • Provide Companionship & Home Helper services which could include:
    • Companionship and conversation
    • Providing stabilization and assistance with walking
    • Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items
    • Providing medication reminders and appointment reminders
    • Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.)
    • Washing and ironing laundry
    • Running errands
    • Accompanying clients to appointments

 

  • Provide Personal Care services which could include:
  • Assisting with bathing
  • Assisting with grooming
  • Assisting with toileting and incontinence issues

 

  • Provide Specialized services which could include:
  • Advanced Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care
  • Hospice Care
  • Couple Care
 

Secondary Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in company sponsored training and social events including CAREGiver meetings
  • Report hours according to office policy & communicate changes in availability in a timely manner
  • Document client information in Client and Life Journal
  • May require you to run errands and provide incidental transportation for a client using your vehicle or a client’s vehicle.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

 

 

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
  • Possess a valid driver’s license or state identification
  • Possess valid auto insurance (if applicable)
  • Ability to withstand exposure to dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions
  • Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner

Home Instead Senior Care (West Vancouver) are currently seeking a Recruitment and Engagement Manager who has a passion for seniors to join our team. The ideal candidate will have several years experience in a human resources position within a fast-paced organization. In addition, the employee should have excellent communication skills, be service-orientated, and have the ability to work well in a team environment. From the top down, our entire office and external staff are dedicated to doing whatever it takes to ensure our clients needs are met; it would be your role to help recruit and maintain like-minded professionals.

Position Summary:

The Recruitment and Engagement Manager reports directly to the President. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Human Resources function within the organization. These key HR functional areas are; Organizational Development, Training & Development, Compensation, Employee Relations, Compliance, HR Budget and HR Administration. The core responsibility of the Senior HR Manager will be to develop human resources strategies to support Home Instead Senior Care growth objectives. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, develop & evaluate the following HR Programs: Recruitment Strategies/Programs, Retainment/Talent Management Programs, Onboarding Optimization, Performance Management Programs, Employee Engagement Initiatives, and HR “Best Practices”.
  • Reflect the core values of Royal Duchess Elder Care Ltd. d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care. 
  • Answer each employment inquiry in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner. 
  • Plan, design, develop & evaluate training for various HR topics (legislative changes, various company programs)
  • Manage employee orientation process for new hires.This wll involve reference checks, criminal background and motor vehicle checks etc. 
  • Ensure compliance with Home Office and government legislation.  
  • Advise Department Managers on confidential employee matters (legislative changes, leaves, discipline, terminations)

Required Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • 3 - 5 years progressive Human Resources experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matter of a confidential nature
  • Demonstrated ability to provide conflict resolution to matters
  • Demonstrated ability to coach/guide and influence senior leadership team
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle pressure situations in a professional & timely manner
  • Must have the ability to establish good working relationships with office colleagues, the franchise owner, clients and the community
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must have the ability to operate office equipment
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in Word and Excel
