Caregiver Job Requirements:

As a Caregiver, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment and assisting your assigned client with personal care and incidental activities of daily living in a home setting. This will involve bathing, grooming, restroom assistance, and ensuring adequate nutrition, as well as assistance with ambulation, transfers and/or range of motion exercises.

 

Specific duties for this Caregiver role include:

 

  • Assisting in home activities of daily living such as shopping, meal preparation, socialization activities, homemaking and medication reminders

  • Recording vital signs

  • Monitoring or reporting changes in health status

  • Documenting observations, activities and service provided in an accurate, complete and timely manner

  • Completing additional assignments as requested

 

Caregiver Job Qualifications:

We are seeking caring and compassionate people to provide the best home care with the knowledge and the skills necessary to manage our clients’ care in a competent manner. It is important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively on an individual basis with minimal supervision.

 

Specific qualifications for this Caregiver role include:

 

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Current driver's license, dependable vehicle and current auto insurance

  • Willingness to submit to and pass Criminal background check and drug screen test

  • Verifiable professional and personal references

  • Physical requirements include:
    • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 25 lbs.
    • Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, etc.
    • Agility and strength sufficient to handle clients and equipment without assistance
    • Ability to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations in the home or during transport
    • Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions

 

Starting pay for a HHA is $11.25 per hour.

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care is looking for caring and compassionate CAREGivers to become a part of our team and join our mission of enhancing the lives of aging adults throughout our community.  Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Assistance with grooming and bathing
  • Assistance with toileting and incontinence issues
  • Alzheimer’s Care
*No previous experience necessary - skills training provided by Home Instead Senior Care*

You can work 15-40 hours per week, as a second job or full-time one!

Requirements to be a CAREGiver:
  • Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect

Staffing Coordinator

Job Details

Since 1999, the Birmingham-MI franchise of Home Instead Senior Care has helped more than 2,300 seniors live safely and independently at home to age in-place.  We are the world’s trusted source for non-medical services and home care for seniors.  We are seeking a multi-talented, professional and caring individual.  This candidate will possess superior communication skills, computer skills, and an uplifting attitude. 


The right individual for the Staffing Coordinator position will have staffing experience, and the ability to work during office hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm.


Responsibilities:
  • Answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Field new client inquires over the phone in a knowledgeable manner.
  • Create and maintain client and CAREGiver schedules with an emphasis on creating high quality matches and the development of extraordinary relationships.
  • Coordinate and maintain CAREGiver and client schedules on a daily basis.
  • Monitor, mediate, and log all client and CAREGiver activity utilizing the software system.
  • Follow up with all client and CAREGiver issues to ensure their problems are resolved.
  • Enter and maintain accurate client and CAREGiver records in the software system.
  • Working independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication. 

Benefits:

  • Salary paid twice per month through direct deposit.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous geriatric, management, or staffing experience are preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly and to handle a fast paced challenging environment.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with handling client concerns and a strong desire to provide the highest quality service.
  • Being organized, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following checks: criminal history, motor vehicle driving record and drug test to be bondable.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and active automobile insurance.
  • Professional integrity with no history of abuse toward a person. 


Hiring Process:

  • Qualified candidates will be called to conduct a phone interview.
  • Those who fit the culture of the company and meet the requirements of the position will be invited to an in-person interview.
  • Those who excel on the first in-person interview will be invited to a second in-person interview.
  • Once a candidate has passed through all interviews, references have been checked, and the candidate has successfully passed a background screening check, candidates will be invited back for a third assimilation interview to meet the staff and review the details of a job offer.
  • If the offer is accepted, the candidate will proceed through orientation and then complete our CAREGiver training program before beginning their role-specific training.
