Stephanie Aguilar - Client Care Coordinator

Stephanie Aguilar - Client Care Coordinator

Stephanie joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in July 2016. She grew up in Long Beach, CA and has strong roots in her community. In her spare time, Stephanie volunteers at her boys' elementary school a few times a week where she is in charge of their home reading program, she is the school's superintendent, and she reads with the students every Tuesday. In her free time, she enjoys taking her boys paddle boarding, hiking, and traveling. Stephanie will be graduating Spring 2017 from Cal State Dominguez Hills and will be receiving her bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Stephanie was motivated to join the senior home care industry because she is passionate about helping people and finding ways to impact their lives in a positive manner.

Ashley Spaulding - Lead Staffing Coordinator

Ashley Spaulding - Lead Staffing Coordinator

Ashley joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in November 2013. During her tenure, she has held several roles. She is currently the Staffing Lead. She works closely with Stephanie and Jenna to handle the clients’ and caregivers’ schedules, resolve client and caregiver issues, and create great matches for our caregivers and clients. Ashley was motivated to join the senior healthcare industry after spending so much time with her Great Aunt who is now 95 and Grammy Bear. She saw the joy that one conversation or one visit can bring someone who does not have a lot. Ashley grew up in Southern California and attended college in Northern California on a volleyball scholarship. She now resides in Anaheim with her husband, son Brayden and dog Ella. In her spare time, she loves to go to hockey games, spend time with her family, and play volleyball.

Jenna Bolton - Staffing Coordinator

Jenna Bolton - Staffing Coordinator Jenna joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in June 2016. In her role as Staffing Coordinator, she assesses the caregivers and clients profile and personality to assure a good match for both the caregiver and client. She is currently going to Cal State University of Dominguez Hills where she is studying community health science and plans to become an occupational therapist.  Jenna was motivated to join the health care industry when her brother was diagnosed with Autism. She spent her free time in high school volunteering for special education programs, and that is when she realized that the health care industry needs more passionate employees. In her spare time, she enjoys paddle boarding, photography, hiking, and spending time with her kitten.

James Pierce - Intern

James joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in January 2016. He is currently attending Orange Coast College as a business major, and plans to transfer to California State University Long Beach in the Fall of 2017. James is the office intern, and spends his time learning everything he can from the excellent people he works with—from staffing to assisting with billing. James has been passionate about working with seniors ever since he provided care for his own grandparents. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and sports—primarily volleyball and basketball.

Melody Phok - Human Resources Assistant

Melody Phok - Human Resources Assistant

Melody joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in April 2016.  As the Human Resources Assistant, she is responsible for assisting with the CAREgiver hiring, screening, and recruiting process. Melody graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration. She was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare after witnessing the deteriorating health of her grandmother. This helped her realize that one of her passions is to help those who are unable to help themselves and this passion for helping others is what led her to Home Instead Senior Care. Along with her educational background in healthcare, she has prior human resources experience interning for a non-profit organization helping at-risk children and families. Melody enjoys beach yoga and meditation, spending time with family and going on trips with her friends.

Kimberlee Oliver - Receptionist

Kimberlee Oliver - Receptionist

Kimberlee joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in February, 2016. As the Receptionist, she answers and routes phone calls, greets guests and handles a variety of other administrative duties. She also helps with processing payroll and various tasks associated with the billing process. Kimberlee graduated from Azusa Pacific University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Family and Child, and hopes to pursue her Marriage and Family Therapy License in the near future. Before joining Home Instead, Kimberlee worked as a nanny, student mentor and customer service representative. When asked why she is passionate about working for HISC, she replied, “I know I’m working with a company that strives to make the lives of our seniors better—not just by the assistance and care we provide—but also by sharing conversation and understanding with them and their families.” During her free time, Kimberlee enjoys singing, road trips, baking and going on new adventures with her husband, Jason.

Jennifer Langner - Training & Engagement Manager

Jennifer joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in April 2016.  As the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator, she is responsible for recruiting new CAREGivers and for all franchise education and training. She has been dedicated to the customer service industry for 25 years, including emphasis on corporate training and education, hands-on training, and one-on-one education. Although she has spent the majority of her career in the Midwest, she’s carried her energy, passion, and commitment out to the West Coast to join forces with the rest of the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team.  In her spare time, she enjoys running, hula hooping, photography, college football, and exploring Southern California with her family.​

Denice Mills - Bookkeeper

Denice joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in May 2006.  As the bookkeeper, her duties include all aspects of payroll, billing, collections and various other accounting related functions. Originally from Rush City, Minnesota, Denice relocated to California in 1965. She completed accounting courses at Golden West College in 1987.  She has worked as a bookkeeper since her time at Golden West College and has handled a variety of bookkeeping responsibilities including medical billing in a Doctor’s office. Prior to joining Home Instead Senior Care, Denice provided care for her Grandmother who had Alzheimer’s and her Mother who passed away from Cancer. Denice lives with her cat Malik. She enjoys gardening and camping whenever she can get away.

Shavon Pierce - Chief People Officer

Shavon joined Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach in January 2016 when she and her husband purchased the franchise.  Shavon’s role in the company is to provide support and assistance with anything related to our employees, our clients and our community partners. 
Shavon grew up in San Pedro, attended Cal State Long Beach before transferring to Cal State Fullerton where she earned her BS Degree in Psychology.  She spent the first 15 years of her career working in Human Resources for a variety of companies in Los Angeles and Orange County.  After her three sons were born, she spent time working as an HR consultant as well as volunteering her time with local non-profit organizations. 
Shavon is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors.  As the daughter of parents who have been clients of Home Instead, she understands what a huge impact our CAREGivers make in the lives of seniors and their families.

Don Pierce - President

Don joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in January 2016 when he and Shavon purchased the franchise. Don’s role is to support all team members in their delivery of high-touch customer service to our employees, clients and community partners and to oversee all aspects of the company’s operations and performance.
Don grew up in Huntington Beach, earned his BS Degree in Business from California State University, Long Beach and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of California, Irvine. During his career, he has run several businesses and has always focused on delivering excellent service to the customer. Over the years, he has served on non-profit boards, committed significant time to volunteering for local non-profits, community based organizations and giving back to the community.
Don is very passionate about enhancing the lives of seniors.  Seeing firsthand the impact caregivers can have on enhancing the lives of seniors and the poor performance of several companies who had been used to provide caregivers for family members, he decided to buy, own and operate this company.  By owning and operating Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach, he leads the charge to ensure that services provided to seniors and their families by Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach meet or exceed his high expectations.
