Jenna, Client Care Coordinator

Jenna, Client Care Coordinator

Jenna joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in June 2016 as a Staffing Coordinator. She is now one of our Client Care Coordinators, meeting with prospective clients, directing our Quality Assurance Program and offering support and resources to clients, their families and CAREGivers. She has a Bachelors Degree in Community Health Science. Her next goal is to receive her Masters in Occupational Therapy and continue to work within the home health field. Jenna was motivated to join the health care industry when her brother was diagnosed with Autism. She spent her free time in high school volunteering for special education programs, and that is when she realized that the health care industry needs more passionate employees. In her spare time, she enjoys paddle boarding, photography, hiking, and spending time with her cat.


Meg - Client Care Coordinator

Meg - Client Care Coordinator

​Meg has over 15 years of experience working with seniors. Prior to joining Home Instead she was a client and volunteer coordinator for a non-profit in Lakewood that served the frail and elderly and terminally ill.  In this role, Meg provided case management, volunteer training, and community outreach. Meg has vast experience in helping seniors to find resources to lead safe and independent lives. She also has a genuine passion for Hospice and helping families through this difficult time. Meg also worked for the AARP Foundation helping seniors find meaningful volunteer opportunities in their communities.  Meg lives in Lakewood with her family. She is a huge dog lover, reader and movie enthusiast. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her favorite role right now is taking care of her 14 year old four-legged child, Benny.


Dori, Home Care Consultant

Dori, Home Care Consultant

​Dori joined the Long Beach team in 2018 after working as a Client Care Coordinator for Home Instead in the Washington DC area.  Born and raised in Long Beach and the surrounding area, she developed her passion for volunteering and working with the aging population and their caregivers while earning her degree in Human Services/Gerontology at Cal State Fullerton. She is also part of the “Sandwich Generation” - raising kids while also helping aging parents.  Over her career, she has worked in various capacities as a Geriatric Care Manager, Senior Center Program Director, Volunteer Coordinator and as a Manager for a Senior HMO in Long Beach. When her boys were young, she volunteered her time as a Meals on Wheels driver, Preschool Board Member, and as PTA President at the local elementary school.  In her free time, she enjoys travel, reading, biking, attending concerts and spending time with her family and her Jack Russell Terrier.

​Elizabeth joined Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach in January 2019. She is a recent graduate of California State University, Long Beach with her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Human Resources. She also received her Human Resources Management Certificate from Cal State Long Beach. Prior to joining Home Instead, Elizabeth worked as a Patient Services Specialist for Physical Therapy clinic, she enjoyed seeing the progress and happiness patients had through their recovery. Elizabeth is responsible for CAREGiver screening, hiring, and on-boarding along with other Human Resources related responsibilities. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, interior design and spending time with family.

​Born and raised in Southern California, Madeleine first started off as a full-time nanny after graduating from SDSU with a BA in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. With those 5 years of experience, she truly understands the importance (and joy!) of being a caregiver. After making the switch to senior care, Madeleine has enjoyed her position as HR Assistant with the Long Beach Home Instead office since February 2019. By keeping files organized and up to date, she feels that this makes a small difference in the lives of CareGivers and clients. Madeleine likes hiking, crafting, and volunteering at the local animal shelter in her spare time.

​Darice, known as Dee to most, joined as a staffing coordinator at the Long Beach Home Instead team in September 2019. Born and raised in California she graduated with her bachelor's at California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Health Care Administration. She enjoys traveling, snowboarding and spending time with her grandma in her free time. Darice is currently enrolled in Golden West College and Long Beach Community College working on furthering her education to advance in the health care field.

​Samantha joined the Long Beach Home Instead team in September of 2019. As a staffing coordinator she loves working with the team to create innovative solutions. With a background in customer service she has been a great addition to the team. When she isn't working, she is with her family and loves to spend time with her nephews.


Ashley, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

Ashley, On-Call Staffing Coordinator

Ashley joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in November 2013. During her tenure, she has served in several roles.  In her current position, she handles Client and CAREGiver scheduling, answering calls after hours and on weekends, and managing the Long-Term Care insurance paperwork process.  Ashley was motivated to join the senior healthcare industry after spending so much time with her Great Aunt and her Grammy Bear.  She saw the joy that one conversation or one visit can bring someone who does not have a lot. Ashley grew up in Southern California and attended college in Northern California on a volleyball scholarship. In her spare time, she loves to go to hockey games, spend time with her family and coach and play volleyball.


Nicole - Bookkeeper

​Nicole began working at Home Instead Senior Care in April 2018. She has an extensive background in business accounting and uses those skills as our bookkeeper. Having had a father who struggled with Alzheimer’s, Nicole understands the value a caregiver can bring to a family. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and enjoys working with people as well as numbers. Nicole takes pleasure in getting out and experiencing Long Beach with her husband and three kids.


Nicolette, Administrative Assistant

Nicolette, Administrative Assistant

​Nicolette joined us in May 2019 after graduating from Cal State Dominguez Hills with a bachelors degree in Health Science in Health Care Management. She assists and supports the entire Long Beach team and is the first smile you greet when visiting the office. She had previously completed an internship at St. Mary Medical Center working closely with the Senior Care Coordinator at the Bazzeni Wellness Senior Center. She loves staying active by going to the gym, snowboarding, playing softball, and going on runs with her dogs.


Don Pierce - President

Don Pierce - President Don joined the Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach team in January 2016 when he and Shavon purchased the franchise. Don’s role is to support all team members in their delivery of high-touch customer service to our employees, clients and community partners and to oversee all aspects of the company’s operations and performance.
 
Don grew up in Huntington Beach, earned his BS Degree in Business from California State University, Long Beach and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of California, Irvine. During his career, he has run several businesses and has always focused on delivering excellent service to the customer. Over the years, he has served on non-profit boards, committed significant time to volunteering for local non-profits, community based organizations and giving back to the community.
 
Don is very passionate about enhancing the lives of seniors.  Seeing firsthand the impact caregivers can have on enhancing the lives of seniors and the poor performance of several companies who had been used to provide caregivers for family members, he decided to buy, own and operate this company.  By owning and operating Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach, he leads the charge to ensure that services provided to seniors and their families by Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach meet or exceed his high expectations.

Shavon Pierce - Chief People Officer

Shavon Pierce - Chief People Officer

Shavon joined Home Instead Senior Care Long Beach in January 2016 when she and her husband purchased the franchise.  Shavon’s role in the company is to provide support and assistance with anything related to our employees, our clients and our community partners. 
 
Shavon grew up in San Pedro, attended Cal State Long Beach before transferring to Cal State Fullerton where she earned her BS Degree in Psychology.  She spent the first 15 years of her career working in Human Resources for a variety of companies in Los Angeles and Orange County.  After her three sons were born, she spent time working as an HR consultant as well as volunteering her time with local non-profit organizations. 
 
Shavon is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors.  As the daughter of parents who have been clients of Home Instead, she understands what a huge impact our CAREGivers make in the lives of seniors and their families.
