Currently, we have a high demand for CAREGivers to assist our clients during evening hours.  Evening assignments start after 5:00pm. Common hours are 5-9pm, 6-10pm, or 7-10pm - although they can go to 11pm since we provide PERSONALIZED services to meet the seniors individual needs.
 


Typical Duties on an evening assignment may include: 
  • Evening Meal Preparation and Clean Up 
  • Evening medication reminders 
  • Assistance with the bedtime routine - toileting, washing, grooming etc.
  • General Safety & Supervision - more falls happen in the evening after a long day!

In order to do this, we need a team of compassionate and flexible people who are willing to work in the evenings from home as our On Call Coordinators.  In this role, you will answer incoming calls after hours and handle whatever situation arises. Some common calls include  potential new client or new CAREGiver,  a family member who ust got home from work may have question or a CAREGiver may be sick and calling off.  

What does it take to be an On Call Coordinator?   You are the "face" of Home Instead and must take that seriously and demonstrate that you are...

RELIABLE- you will work when you say you will. You handle the calls and make sure the transition of information to the office team is seamless. 
DETAILED- you will gather and document alot of information into our computer system
PATIENT & COMPASSIONATE- we care for those who care for others and if they are calling after hours, they need something.
POSITIVE - if your smile can be "heard" through the phone, they are calmer and will smile back.  


We are looking for a team of people to share the weekly rotation of On Call using our cell phone and tablets. The weekly rotation is Monday through Sunday:
 Monday through Thursday on Call hours are 5pm to 8am.   On the weekend on call hours are Friday 5pm though 8am Sunday.
   
On Call is paid on a daily lump sum rate or stipend. $35 weekday and $300 weekend.

Weekend Service Coordinator

Job Details

Home Instead Senior Care provides in-home support of the activities of daily living to seniors in Southwest Allegheny and Washington counties.  As a growing 24/7 business with a desire to extend support our seniors and CAREGivers, we have a unique opportunity for someone who has weekend flexibility.   

Our Weekend Service Coordinator will work in our Bethel Park office from 8a-5pm on Saturday and/or Sunday.   In this role, you will handle incoming calls to the office, which may include inquiries about our service or our jobs, CAREGiver call offs, Client schedule changes, family questions, etc.  You will also be staffing future shifts.  Even though you are working alone in the office, you will have a "back up" person available by phone should you need assistance. There may be a time in the future that this could turn into a work-from-home arrangement for the right person and situation.

This position is best suited for someone with the following characteristics:
  • Critical Thinking Skills - learn the processes, ask the right questions, work through the situation to provide the best customer service possible
 
  • Attention to Details - When asking the right questions, document the information so that you (or someone else) can make a good decision
 
  • Ability to Multitask - You must be able to talk on the phone while entering data or moving through our database.  You must be able to keep track of your tasks and make sure they are all completed
 
  • Positive Attitude - its important that our Key Players are positive, smile, express genuine interest and concern for others and can get through any stressful situation
 
  • Compassion- you have to have a genuine caring heart and understand what it takes to care for someone in order to support them 


As a Key Player for Home Instead, you will participate in extensive training which takes place in the office Monday-Friday prior to working on your own.  This includes both New CAREGiver Orientation and Key Player Orientation.    You will also participate in paid staff development programs, some that take place on the weekends.
