A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family. 

We reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.

Gaudensia "Gaudy" - Our Caregiver of the Month for July

​We are pleased to announce Gaudy as our Home Instead Senior Care Caregiver of the Month of July. 

Gaudy has been a Caregiver with our company since 2014. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Gaudy these past years. She is dependable, caring, and compassionate and is willing to do whatever it takes to provide the best care for her clients. 

Throughout the years of working for our company, Gaudy has demonstrated a sincere desire to help others and has proven that caring for the elderly is a priority in her life. 

We are extremely happy she found Home Instead Senior Care and has chosen to work with us. It is our good fortune and we hope for a very long working relationship with her!

Barbara - Our Caregiver of the Month for June

Barbara - Our Caregiver of the Month for June

​It is our extreme pleasure to announce our Caregiver of the Month for June is Barbara! Barbara has been with Home Instead Senior Care since 2013.

Barbara was born in Africa and moved to the U.S. when she was 15 years old where she then resided in Boston. Luckily for us, she moved to Dallas, TX 5 years ago and found Home Instead Senior Care. 

Barbara has had the opportunity to work with several clients. She had a long-standing working relationship with one of our families and was able to provide outstanding caregiver services!

Barbara has been described by those who know her as loving, compassionate, caring, and considerate. Other thoughts are that she takes initiative, is a hard worker, and goes the extra mile.

​It is with great pleasure that we announce Martha as our Caregiver of the Month of May.

Martha has been a part of our Home Instead Senior Care family since 2011 and has been providing excellent care to her long-standing client since 2012. Since then, she has become an integral part their caregiving team!

Martha is a hardworking, humble caregiver who genuinely enjoys caring for others and it is reflected in her work.

Rita - Our Caregiver of the Month for April

Rita - Our Caregiver of the Month for April

​Rita has been a Caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care for over 12 years. Over those years, Rita has worked with a wide variety of clients some of which were extremely demanding. Rita has the ability to win them over, and they feel she is irreplaceable! Her forethought and ability to assess a situation is a true asset. She has a firm demeanor that enables clients to cooperate for their own good. She in turn has a great fondness and loyalty to her clients. Her ability to accomplish some of the clients' most unpopular services is a sight to behold. Being able to adapt to each client's needs and personality has served her well over the years. 

Rita is a lot of fun to have in the office! She loves fashion, shopping, a good bargain, and is an interesting conversationalist.

Terez - Our Caregiver of the Month for March

It is our extreme pleasure to announce our caregiver for the Month of March is Terez. Terez has had training as a certified nursing assistant and has worked in home health agencies in the past. Some of her previous work experience includes that of being a chef. The ability to cook well is a great asset in our service to our clients. One of the greatest pleasures in senior’s lives is their ability to enjoy their meals.  Terez has been described by those who know her as loving, compassionate, caring and considerate. Other thoughts are that she is a hard worker, goes the extra mile, is punctual, and has a big heart! Terez has been a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care for five years. Her dedication to her clients and our company is unparalleled. We are so proud to have Terez represent Home Instead Senior Care in such a professional manner. She exemplifies the qualities that make an extraordinary caregiver. Thank you Terez for everything you do for your clients and Home Instead Senior Care. Funmilayo - Our Caregiver of the Month for February

Congratulations to Funmilayo for being our Caregiver of the Month for February. “Funmi” as we call her, has a vast level of experience that enables her to be very proficient at her work. Prior to being employed by our Central Dallas office she worked for the State of Massachusetts and the Home Instead Senior Care in Boston. Funmi is a caregiver by nature and a person of deep faith. As described by her friends and co-workers she is very caring, loving and her sureness in her abilities instills confidence in her clients and their families. Thank you Funmi for all of your hard work and dedication to your clients and Home Instead Senior Care. We are happy to have you as part of our family.


Sherby - Our Caregiver of the Month for January

Sherby - Our Caregiver of the Month for January

We’re starting 2017 off with a bang! Our selection as our Caregiver of the Month of January is Sherby H. Sherby is simply a pleasure to be around. Her upbeat attitude is positively infectious and is simply a pleasure to be around! Sherby started out in the caregiving field by caring for her grandparents and neighbor. Luckily she found her way to our Home Instead office. Sherby loves to care for people, from seniors to children. She is currently working with a few of our clients and has won them over with her friendly nature and youthful fun spirit. On her spare time, Sherby enjoys horseback riding, yoga, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family. Prior to working for Home Instead Senior Care Sherby worked for the City of Allen Police Department and Red the Uniform Tailor, as their Regional Purchasing Coordinator. Congratulations Sherby on being chosen as our caregiver of the month! We appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to your clients and Home Instead Senior Care.


Lindsey - Our Caregiver of the Month of July

Lindsey - Our Caregiver of the Month of July

What an exceptional young lady Lindsey is!  For this and many more reasons Lindsey has been chosen to be our CAREGiver of the Month of July.  She is currently working with a client who was a family caregiver, and after many years of marriage he lost his wife.   Although Lindsey was primarily working with her client's wife she was asked to continue.  She has been instrumental in bringing cheer into his home, engaging him in activities, and preparing delicious meals.  Lindsey has a true devotion to her client and enables him to pick up and go on with his life after his loss.

 Lindsay hails from the great state of Oklahoma!  She attended school there studying dental assisting and social work.  She worked in Oklahoma as a dental assistant, a registration clerk at a local hospital and as a caregiver to the elderly.  She crossed the Red River to start a new phase of her life in Dallas.


Antwanette - Our Caregiver of the Month for May

Antwanette - Our Caregiver of the Month for May

​​Our caregiver of the Month of May is Antwanette, she is truly is a May flower!  We feel so fortunate she traveled from her home state of Arkansas to explore job opportunities in Dallas.  Hailing from Texarkana, Arkansas, Antwanette has worked in both Texas and Arkansas before settling in Dallas. 

Antwanette comes to Home Instead Senior Care after having worked in nursing and rehabilitation facilities as well as caring for her mother for several years.  She also has experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.                 ​

She is qualified as a CNA and a Direct Support Associate.  ​Antwanette shared her experiences at Home Instead with her brother, who is now also one of our caregivers.  They are our first brother-sister caregiver duo! 

The couple that Antwanette works with simply adore her as do their family.  She has become an integral part of their caregiving team.  We appreciate Antwanette's upbeat spirit that brings joy into her clients' lives. 

When ambulation is difficult and outings mainly consist of doctor's appointments our caregivers bring the outside world in.  Antwanette is a master at setting a positive fun atmosphere.

Thank you Antwanette for sharing yourself with your clients and sharing your brother with us!  Congratulations on being honored as our caregiver of the Month of May.​



Joe - Our Caregiver of the Month for April

Joe - Our Caregiver of the Month for April

It is with great pleasure that we announce Joe is our CAREGiver of the Month of April.  Joe is a much requested caregiver especially popular with our male clients.  Joe is a giver of himself and his many talents and experiences.

We are grateful Joe learned about Home Instead Senior Care from one of our caregivers.   He has a vast level of experience that enables him to be very proficient at his work.  In previous years he has been employed  at retirement communities, home health agencies, rehabilitation units, and he  has also worked for the Department of Criminal Justice.  He is a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide.

Originally from Nigeria Joe moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and subsequently to Dallas.  His goal is to become a Registered Nurse.  He is a person of deep faith and enjoys playing soccer.  Joe has a sweet gentle spirit, caring nature, and sureness in his abilities that instills confidence in his clients and their families.

We feel extremely fortunate that Joe has chosen to give his talents and experience to his clients at Home Instead Senior Care.  We take pride in the relationship and care he affords those he works with.  Thank you Joe for being such a wonderful person willing to give so freely of yourself.


Suzanne - Our Caregiver of the Month of March

Suzanne - Our Caregiver of the Month of March

​​One of the most enjoyable aspects of working with Home Instead Senior Care is learning more about our caregivers.  Each is special in their own way, and one of our most unique caregivers, Suzanne Z. has been selected as our caregiver of the Month of March.

Suzanne has worked with our office for a year as well as one of our Home Instead offices in Illinois.  She has an extremely varied work and educational background.  Suzanne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is currently working on her Masters Degree in family and marriage therapy.  She is a CNA and is certified in Alzheimer's care, first aid and CPR.  Suzanne has worked as an hospice volunteer, assistant teacher, in a nursing home and counseling for the Salvation Army.  Her caregiving career spans over ten years.

All Suzanne's previous work and educational experiences have shaped her into an excellent representative for Home Instead Senior Care.  She has been described as thorough, gentle, understanding, and uplifting. Other adjectives used by those who know her are resourceful, inspirational, professional, observant and a good listener. 

Suzanne enjoys working with the senior population because they are so interesting and full of history.  She has been married for over 20 years and has 4 children.  We appreciate Suzanne bringing her wealth of life experiences to Home Instead.  Her clients find her to be a great companion as well as caregiver.  Thank you for giving of yourself to benefit others.


Johana - Our Caregiver of the Month for February

Johana - Our Caregiver of the Month for February

February is a month associated with love, our thoughts turn to a loving gentle caregiver Johana.  She is a great candidate for Caregiver of the Month!  Johana is from the West African Country of Cameroon.  She lived with and cared for her grandmother during that time.  Johana moved to the United States 10 years ago.  She has completed nurse aide training and her CNA certification.  Her work experience has been in long term care facilities, home health companies and nonmedical home care agencies. 

Johana gets the job done in her quiet efficient manner.  Her clients and families have confidence in her abilities.  She comes into a household, provides care and allows her clients their privacy.  Her clients know she is readily available to them whenever they need help.

 We at Home Instead Senior Care have come to rely on Johana for her excellent care giving skills. Working for our company and being the parent of a young son keep her busy.  We appreciate Johana choosing to work with Home Instead and representing us in such a wonderful way.  Thank you Johana and congratulations for being selected as our Caregiver of the Month for February!

 


Georgina: Caregiver of the Month for December

Georgina: Caregiver of the Month for December
December brings thoughts of good cheer, companionship and giving. With that spirit in mind we have selected Georgina as our CAREGiver of the Month. It is impossible to think about Georgina without visions of her smile flashing through your mind. She is our come back gal having worked for our Home Instead Senior Care office on two different occasions.

Originally from Ghana, Georgina moved to Newark, New Jersey in 2000 and Dallas in 2001. Georgina is trained as a certified nursing assistant and has worked for nonmedical home care agencies as well as in facilities.

Georgina has a passion for her elders and enjoys learning from them. The joy Georgina feels inside radiates to those around her. Her calm presence in her client's home is uplifting and meaningful. Always thinking of others, Georgina goes above and beyond in all she does. Whenever she returns to her homeland Georgina comes back to the United States laden with presents for others. We always look forward to the delicious scones she bakes for her friends and clients. If you want to be around someone who makes you feel better instantly find Georgina. Her sweet smile cures all ills. Thank you Georgina for coming back to us and for making your clients and their families lives infinitely better.

Emmanuel: Caregiver of the Month for November

Emmanuel: Caregiver of the Month for November
​It gives us great pleasure to announce Emmanuel is our caregiver of the Month of November. Emmanuel currently works with a Home Instead Senior Care male client. He has proven to be instrumental in that household. Emmanuel has learned to manage the home while still allowing the client to feel he is in control. It is a very demanding position with high expectations. The way Emmanuel accomplishes what need to be done while keeping all the different entities happy is amazing.

Emmanuel moved to the United States from Nigeria in 1996. He lives in Rowlett with his wife and three children. Having worked in the health care field for years Emmanuel has vast experience as a patient care technician with various home health companies. He has also been employed by a rehabilitation clinic. Emmanuel furthered his education while here earning a LVN diploma and Cisco Networking & Technical Diploma. He enjoys playing soccer.

Being a man of many talents aptly describes Emmanuel. We appreciate his willingness to do whatever it takes with his current client to make everything run smoothly within the household. His patience and his ability to work as a team leader for the well being of his client is undeniable. We are so proud Emmanuel has chosen to work with us at Home Instead Senior Care.

Rhonda: Caregiver of the Month for September

Rhonda: Caregiver of the Month for September
A breath of fresh air aptly describes our CAREGiver for the cool month of September, Rhonda. She is filled with a fun sincere spirit that is uplifting to all those around her. The office staff at Home Instead always looks forward to a visit from Rhonda!

Rhonda knows her way around Dallas having grown up here graduating from Bryan Adams High School. Her career in the home health field has spanned 14 years. Rhonda has worked in nursing homes, with home health agencies as well as nonmedical homecare companies.

Many of our clients have benefitted from working with Rhonda. She is compassionate, nurturing and hardworking. Rhonda has a way of making her client’s day brighter and is anxious to help our Home Instead office by accepting fill in shifts.

Rhonda is a mother as well as a grandmother and is active in church work. We appreciate her good heartedness and loving nature towards her clients. Caregiving is a great profession for Rhonda suiting her personality and talents perfectly. Thanks for all you do for Home Instead Senior Care and your clients.

Sharla: Caregiver of the Month for August

Sharla: Caregiver of the Month for August
We love it when one of our caregivers tells a friend about how wonderful it is to work with Home Instead Senior Care. That is exactly what happened two years ago when Sharla joined Home Instead and now she is our CAREGiver for the Month of August.

We love working with Sharla and she is always a favorite with all her clients. Sharla represents our company in an extremely efficient and professional manner. Her clients are put at ease because Sharla has the ability to handle everything in a very confident manner.
Sharla is a Dallasite having attended Pinkston High School. She has worked in the security field as well as being a dispatcher. The spirit of volunteering is something Sharla very much enjoys and makes time for it in her busy schedule. She also enjoys walking, gardening, volleyball and reading.

Her clients have come to depend on her as does Home Instead Senior Care. Sharla’s faith is evident in all she does. We feel so fortunate Sharla discovered the caregiving field;it seems to be the perfect vocation for her. Home Instead Senior Care and her clients greatly benefit from Sharla’s passion to care for others. Congratulations on being our August CAREGiver of the Month!

Jennifer: Caregiver of the Month for July

Jennifer: Caregiver of the Month for July
This month’s honoree Jennifer epitomizes the concept of a professional caregiver. She quietly enters a home, realizes her client’s needs and begins taking care of those needs. Jennifer is calm, quiet and her sheer presence instills confidence. She has a way of attending to her client and their home while at the same time affording her client respect and privacy.

Jennifer grew up in Nigeria and has lived in Texas nine years. She recently returned to her native land to get married!! We are so happy for her and this new milestone in her life. Congratulations Jennifer!

Prior to being employed by Home Instead, Jennifer has worked in skilled nursing facilities in Dallas as well as working privately with a client for three years. She is certified as a nursing assistant as well as a medication aide.

When Jennifer receives a new client we are assured they will be cared for in a gentle loving way. She genuinely enjoys caring for others and it is reflected in the way she conducts herself. Jennifer’s relationship with her clients comes from her heart. We are incredibly lucky she has chosen to spread her love throughout Home Instead Senior Care and our clients. Thank you Jennifer for being the wonderful talented person you are and confirming our mission to help others.

Jane: Caregiver of the month for June

Jane: Caregiver of the month for June

Hip Hip Hooray! Our selection for the Caregiver of the month for June is Jane. Jane has been employed by Home Instead Senior Care for almost 9 years. During those years she has worked with many clients both male and female. There are several clients to which Jane has devoted thousands of hours of care.

Jane is a person who does whatever it takes to provide wonderful care for her clients. If her client's situation changes, she is happy to accommodate their needs. There have been many times when she has consented to expanding her work hours, working day and night to benefit her client. Her selflessness and dedication best exemplifies the wonderful attributes of our caregivers. Her clients as well as their families are grateful that Jane is always there for them. The bond she forms with them is what Home Instead Senior Care is all about.

Jane is originally from the country of Kenya and has lived in the United States since 1995. Prior to moving to Texas she lived in Maryland. While in Maryland Jane stayed busy doing work in the clerical field.

Jane has two daughters and enjoys crafting and sewing. She has recently started a new business, Wamboshe's Essentials, in which she makes adult mealtime clothing protectors. Jane also enjoys dancing and reading.

We do so appreciate Jane's willingness to take on challenging clients. She has the ability to clam and diffuse difficult situations. Families rely on Jane to handle whatever may come up in her loving way. She has proven to be a great home manager and a tremendous asset to our company. Thank you Jane for caring so deeply for your clients and their families. It is our pleasure to give you this honor!

Melissa: Caregiver of the month for May

Melissa: Caregiver of the month for May
It is with great excitement that we announce Melissa is our Caregiver of the Month for May. We have learned that Melissa has a huge heart housed in her petite frame. She has had an extremely interesting life and we have enjoyed getting to know her better.

Having grown up in Louisiana and East Texas, Melissa attended college at Baylor University where she received a degree in International Studies. After graduation she was a bilingual teacher in Central and East Texas. Melissa has taught children as well as adults and even taught in Brazil for 3 years! Needless to say, she is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Always seeking to better herself Melissa is currently working on a Masters in Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics.

Melissa finds working with seniors unlike real work because she enjoys their company and being able to help them accomplish things they are unable to do for themselves. While trying to let her clients have as much independence as possible she has found they have enriched her life.

To say Melissa has a passion for helping others is a vast understatement. She has demonstrated this sentiment through her volunteer work and caregiving for young and old alike. Melissa is an exemplary young lady, an incredible caregiver and a dream employee for our team at Home Instead Senior Care. We appreciate all she does for her clients and being a great representative for our company.

Francisca: Caregiver for the month of April

Francisca: Caregiver for the month of April
Our Home Instead Senior Care is extremely fortunate that Francisca heard about our company and decided to work with us. Francisca came to the United States from Mexico when she was 12 years old. She has lived in Texas as well as Arkansas and learned about Home Instead from another one of our wonderful caregivers.

Francisca has told us she enjoys working with the senior population and listening to their stories. She enjoys making them feel better when lonely and bringing joy into their lives. Watching her clients improve has been extremely rewarding to Francisca. She feels a strong connection to her clients and learning from them has made her a better person.

When we inquired about Francisca, her friends describe her as a person who puts others needs before her own. She has the ability to learn, adapt and succeed when faced with challenges. Always going above and beyond, she treats others as family.

When thinking of Francisca, her beautiful smile always comes to mind. She is truly a ray of sunshine to those around her. In an effort to further enhance her education and better care for her clients, she is currently attending nursing school. Francisca's clients adore her and never want to let her go. We feel exactly the same way. Thank you Francisca for all you do for Home Instead Senior Care and the special love you show for your clients.

Mia: Caregiver for the month of February

Mia: Caregiver for the month of February
February is often thought of as the month of love. We selected Mia as the Caregiver of the Month for February because of her loving generous nature. We sincerely enjoy Mia. Her youthful fun spirit encompasses those around her. Mia came to Home Instead Senior Care over a year ago. She had previously worked with elders at some of the area senior living communities. She has a desire to pursue the nursing profession. Mia and her brother came to the United States from Ethiopia about nine years ago. She attended high school in Carrollton and has adapted well to the American way of life. Mia loves to babysit her brother’s children! In our experience with her at Home Instead we have found Mia to be an extremely hard worker. She is willing to pick up extra shifts when called on short notice and we so appreciate her flexibility. Mia will tackle the most challenging clients. She wins them over with her friendly nature and humor. She has the ability to think on her feet and provide solutions to her client’s needs.

Thank you Mia for bringing a fresh approach to your work. Having a positive upbeat attitude greatly enhances the quality of life of our clients and makes any situation more enjoyable. Mia reminds us of this simple concept and fully embraces it in her outlook on life.

Sheri: Caregiver for the Month of January

Sheri: Caregiver for the Month of January
As we ring in the New Year of 2014 our Home Instead Senior Care office enthusiastically selects Sheri as the Caregiver of the Month for January. Sheri is a product of our fair city attending high school at W.T. White and later institutions of higher education earning an associate degree at Richland, Bachelor of Science at Texas Women’s University in Education of the Hearing Impaired, and a Master of Divinity at Southern Methodist University Perkins School of Theology. Sheri learned about Home Instead from her sister’s neighbor who was our client.

Sheri has had an extremely interesting life centered around helping others. She worked for years at both Medical City Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas as a Nurse Aide, Health Unit Coordinator and Unit Secretary. She was a family caregiver for her father who was on hospice care. Sheri lived in a Monastery in Pennsylvania for several years caring for the elderly Sisters. She most recently earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and worked for a local hospice organization.

Abundantly clear in Sheri’s educational pursuits and choice of professions is that she sincerely cares about her fellow man and deeply desires to help them. She has a special interest in Alzheimer’s and Hospice Care.

Sheri’s selfless dedication is such an inspiration. She has found her life’s work to be extremely rewarding. It has been a joy for her to care for others and learn from their years of wisdom. Those who have known Sheri over the years describe her as going above and beyond in her own compassionate manner. She has great insight and is passionate in her desire to help those in need and approaches all with a tremendous amount of empathy. If you have not met Sheri make it a priority to get to know her. She is simply exceptional in her humble way and those who know her are extremely fortunate. Home Instead Senior Care and their clients are the beneficiaries of Sheri’s loving giving spirit.
