To us, it is personal. Owners Bob and Joyce Brasher have faced decisions that you are currently facing. Bob, losing a father to Alzheimers Disease, understands the importance of a caregiver who understood the disease and could work with his mom as she struggled to accept someone else coming into her home. When Joyce began providing care for her father who was diagnosed with a multitude of health problems she realized she would need help. Her mother would not be able to care for him around the clock and stay well herself. Living out of town, Joyce had to place her trust in caregivers outside of family members. They recognize the importance and inner struggle of a changing role from daughter/son to care provider.
After selling his business in 2011, Jason became the General Manager for Home Instead. He has over 15 years in the corporate world and has now turned his focus to making a difference in people's lives. He works directly with each department to ensure the care of clients is our number one priority. He makes a point to speak to each of our CAREGivers every time he sees them. He takes great pride in being a part of the people and not just the numbers. With Jason's guidance, Home Instead is now able to proivde solutions for families so that their loved ones can age in their own homes with dignity and pride. Like many of our clients' children, Jason knows the struggles of caring for aging parents and wants to set a high level standard of care not only for his loved ones but our clients as well.
Since 2002, LaTonya Cunningham has worn many hats with the Home Instead Senior Care. She started her Home Instead Senior Care career as a CAREGiver and worked her way into the office in 2006. She currently serves as Finance Manager in our Billing and Payroll Department. She manages two assistants who strive to provide the best quality of services to our clients and CAREGivers. Her commitment and dedication to Home Instead demonstrates a great passion that she has for seniors in our community.
Priscilla began her career working with individuals with mental disabilities in 2007. That experience inspired her to gain a degree in Psychology in 2017. She has worked in various healthcare fields as both support and clinical staff. She joined the Home Instead Senior Care family in 2017 as a Service Coordinator. She uses her Psychology degree to help her understand things from our client's point of view and to create a wonderful CAREGiver-Client relationship.
Dee Dee joined our team in August of 2018 as a Home Care Consultant. All though her background has been in marketing and sales, she has a strong passion for seniors because of the care and love she had for her grandparents which she lost at an early age. Dee Dee has also served for many years as a volunteer for Lutheran Hospice. She is a native of the Midlands, attended Columbia College and currently resides in West Columbia. With enthusiasm, she is looking forward to learning more about the senior care industry and how she can be an additional resource to her clients.
Josephine joined our team in October of 2019. She is a Certified Nursing Assistant and is currently pursing her Registered Nursing degree. Josephine has been passionate about nursing for over 10 years now. Her grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's, so quality senior care has always been important to her. She has industry experience in hospitals and retirement facilities but finds that home care is more personal. We are excited to bring her aboard to serve our clients to make sure they are getting the best care possible.
Donna Robinson joined our team as a Home Care Consultant. She has an extensive background in the senior health care industry. She has always had a passion for seniors because of her experiences with her family, which included her mother who received home care after serious health issues. Donna is excited to be working with our clients and our marketing team to see how we can assist with their daily care. She resides in Northeast Columbia with her husband and has two adult children.
Chaka Leaphart joined the Home Instead Senior Care Family in September 2017 in our Recruitment and Retention Department. She comes with 19 years experience in CAREGiving, hospice care,and served as Care Plan Coordinator for Assisted Living. She at this time still maintains her CNA license. She takes pride in screening, hiring,and training the best possible CAREGivers that we have to offer. She looks for CAREGivers who have the compassion and love for their clients as she did. She really enjoys meeting new CAREGivers and getting to know them.
Nichel'le "Chelle" Speaks began her career with HISC as a On-Call Schedule Coordinator in 2018. She has since moved into the roll of Service Coordinator, pairing clients with CAREGivers based on services needed, skills possessed and personality traits. Chelle's background has been in community hospice and over 11 years' experience in the health care field. In 2018 she furthered her career by attending Midlands Technical College and received her Advance CNA license. A native from Batesburg-Leesville, she has 5 children that includes 2 sets of twins and 1 single pregnancy. The passion that she has for others guides her to success in her role.
Teresa E. Wilson joined our team in August of 2019 as a Human Resources Assistant. She obtained an MBA from Claflin University and has a background in mental health and social services. She is very compassionate about helping individuals with disabilities or those that need help. Her grandmother has Alzheimer's and becoming part of the HISC team allows her to share her grandmother's experiences with the CAREGivers that serve our clients. Teresa looks forward to growing with HISC and learning more about the senior industry.
