Kim joined the Home Instead team in December of 2016 and has held several positions. She comes to us with extensive administrative experience as well as experience in caring for her own aging parents. She first came to Home Instead as a scheduler in Schenectady and is currently the administrative support for our Albany office.
Kim and her husband, Chris have a 19 year old son who is attending the University of New Haven, studying mechanical engineering. They spend most of their time remodeling their 1920's bungalow in Scotia and any free time is spent at their camp on Sacandaga Lake.
Prior to coming to Home Instead, Kelly was as a dispatcher for a large trucking company. She is working at completing her degree as a CPA. She also does bookkeeping for private companies in the area.
Kelly works closely with the CAREGivers, Client Care Coordinator and Clinical staff to ensure a good match between the clients and caregivers.
What she likes most about her job is talking with CAREGivers and clients. It brings her great joy to know that she made the right match and that the client and caregivers are happy with the service the Home Instead Team provides.
Kelly has twin girls in college who keep her very busy. She loves horses and just recently acquired a new yearling which takes up most of her spare time.
Carol is one of our Recruitment and Engagement Coordinators. Her role focuses on providing various training's, annual reviews, and ensuring all CAREGivers are well-equipped to perform their job.
Carol holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Psychology and and Elementary Teaching Certification from The Sage Colleges. Prior to joining our team Carol was a Kindergarten Teacher as well as a Special Event Fundraiser for multiple non-profit organizations.
Carol has a great respect for seniors and their life changing experiences. She enjoys training CAREGivers giving them knowledge on how best to work with their clients in all situations.
Although a life long resident of the Capital Region, Carol's favorite place to be is in Maine. She lives in Altamont with her husband and teen daughter. She enjoys shopping with her daughter, baking, writing stories, and doing cross stitch.
Heather is our Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator and her role with Home Instead Senior Care is to recruit, screen, hire, train and engage a staff of CARE Givers in order to provide the highest quality service to our clients. She works in partnership with the office to create high quality matches and extraordinary relationships while communicating and implementing all company policies, procedures and ethic codes.
Heather comes to Home Instead Senior Care with a Masters in Liberal Studies and a strong background in outreach and sales. Her various duties also take her into the community to speak on behalf of Home Instead Senior Care. She likes the fact that Home Instead senior Care allows Seniors to have liberating beliefs, not limiting beliefs by helping them to stay independent in their own homes.
Heather enjoys reading, doing crafts, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite vacation spot is the Outer Banks in North Carolina; she loves the beach!!
Fred joined Home instead in August 2016. His Client Care Coordinator position at Home Instead Senior Care is truly a labor of love. Meeting with clients and potential clients gives him the wonderful opportunity to be of service to our caregivers, our clients and our clients' families. The most rewarding aspect of his work is the reassurance that comes from bringing our caregivers into clients' homes allowing clients to remain safe and secure in their homes.
When not at work, Fred enjoys spending time with family and friends, caring for his rescue dog, "Callie", attending concerts, reading and playing golf. He is also an avid Syracuse University basketball fan.
Fred's previous work included extensive experience in medical billing and customer service. His most recent job before coming to Home Instead was a Billing Manager at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY.
Fred has a B.A. in American History from Hobart College.
Our Client Care Coordinator Karen has the great responsibility of ensuring the quality of services Home Instead provides its seniors. She meets with inquiring seniors and families to determine how our services can help, in addition to conducting quality assurance visits to our clients and families after services have started. Karen also ensures each client and caregiver has a proper introduction.
Karen brings to Home Instead many years of experience in critical human services. After graduating from Plattsburgh State University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, she went on to earn her Master's degree in Human Services and Supervision from Lousiana State. She worked for years as a Client Coordinator for the mentally challenged in Malone, Ballston Spa, and Utica, New York, then later Shreveport, Louisiana. More recently, she worked as the Director of Resident and Family Services for Hallmark Nursing Center (now known as The Orchard) in Granville, New York, before taking some time off to raise a family.
Karen is a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) which she earned in July 2016. This is a certification that is renewed every three years. This certification demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the health, social, financial and ethical issues associated with aging. This is a commitment to high ethical standards, lifelong learning and exceptional service to older adults.
Karen enjoys serving seniors because they are the remaining members of a generation which formed our nation's history through hard work and perseverance. She believes that they deserve to retire in style and enjoy their golden years!
In her spare time, Karen has many hobbies including restoring antiques, quilting, canning strawberry jam, and caning chairs. She enjoys reading, travelling to historical areas, watching movies, and spending her free time with family in her cabin in the Adirondacks.
Brittney has a bachelor's degree in business administration and a strong background in Human Resources including 3 years working at Schenectady Community Action Program where she assisted individuals with obtaining their educational and employment goals.
Brittney worked in Human Resources as well as Scheduling before accepting the role of Billing and Payroll Manager. She believes the team at Home Instead is making a huge difference in seniors' lives each and every day and being a part of that team means a lot to her.
When she's not at work her creative side comes out. She loves to sew handbags and spend time with her family and friends.
Megan is our multitalented Financial Manager. She is in charge of all financial and payroll operations in the office, including managing payable and receivable accounts, monitoring all CAREGiver clock-ins and-outs.
Kevin is responsible for overseeing daily operations. He has the pleasure of working with an all-star team of CAREGivers and office staff who work diligently to provide personalized quality care for each client we serve.
Having both been though the challenges of caring for aging parents while trying to maintain their personal and professional lives, it was a truely personal decision to open a Home Instead Senior Care office.
