Home Instead recognizes outstanding CAREGivers who demonstrate the
Attributes of Love (v). This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence, and it rewards CAREGivers for their hard work, compassionate care and dedicated service to others.
On an annual basis, we select a CAREGiver of the Year and celebrate him/her at a special reception at our office. Our CAREGiver of the Year is also presented to our corporate headquarters in Omaha, Neb., as a nominee for the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.
Kelly Ann is committed to providing the best care possible. She demonstrates that by keeping the most detailed log notes and notifying the office of anything out of the ordinary; she understands that this affects other CAREGivers who enter the homes and, in turn, impacts the level of care the clients receive. Understanding that aging comes with challenges, Kelly Ann is patient and respectful when clients need more time, and she gladly stays longer to assist in those situations. When she’s not filling a shift, she frequently notifies the office that she is available to pick up additional hours if a client need arises.
Kelly Ann likes to hike, bake, cook and participate in water activities.
With Home Instead since 2006, Tara has been filling a vital role as CAREGiver but has also been assisting in the office when needed. In fact, she leads day-two orientation, which has been a great way to connect with and support new CAREGivers. She enjoys helping set them up for success and taking time to get them prepared for the important tasks ahead. As a CAREGiver, Tara has close relationships with her clients, and updates the office so that care plans can be modified. This critical communication enables other CAREGivers to provide the right care for the clients' benefit. In her spare time, Tara likes to spend time with her dog, Lucky, and her husband, Dave.
Having retired from the banking industry after 28 years, Sharon wanted to apply her passion for helping people. As a
professional CAREGiver, she has been able to put that to good use.
In her time with us, Sharon has emerged as one of our rock-star performers. For example, she is quick and eager to
help in unpredictable situations, such as when a peer is unable to make a shift; in those situations, she treats the
clients just the same, demonstrating commitment and selflessness as well as keeping the office abreast of any updates. She is
known for her warm, welcoming personality; inviting demeanor; and cheerful disposition.
Outside of work, Sharon volunteers at her church. She enjoys reading books and listening to classical, ‘50s and ‘60s music. She and
her husband have four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
