Home Instead recognizes outstanding CAREGivers who demonstrate the
Attributes of Love (v). This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence, and it rewards CAREGivers for their hard work, compassionate care and dedicated service to others.
On an annual basis, we select a CAREGiver of the Year and celebrate him/her at a special reception at our office. Our CAREGiver of the Year is also presented to our corporate headquarters in Omaha, Neb., as a nominee for the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.
Having retired from the banking industry after 28 years, Sharon wanted to apply her passion for helping people. As a
professional CAREGiver, she has been able to put that to good use.
In her time with us, Sharon has emerged as one of our rock-star performers. For example, she is quick and eager to
help in unpredictable situations, such as when a peer is unable to make a shift; in those situations, she treats the
clients just the same, demonstrating commitment and selflessness as well as keeping the office abreast of any updates. She is
known for her warm, welcoming personality; inviting demeanor; and cheerful disposition.
Outside of work, Sharon volunteers at her church. She enjoys reading books and listening to classical, ‘50s and ‘60s music. She and
her husband have four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Hobbies: In her spare time, Nicole enjoys going on hikes with her dogs, traveling and working at the haunted house during the fall.

Sheila agreed to make them before her shift ended.
