Increasingly common in this country, diabetes can be either Type one alias Juvenile Diabetes or Type 2 alias Adult onset diabetes, One of the most common symptoms is a sense of thirst. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas slows downs or stops the production of insulin. There are many steps to help manage your diabetes including changing your lifestyle, watching your diet, and taking your medication. Type 2 diabetes progresses over time but you can manage or cure it. Doctors monitor the progress of diabetes with a blood test measuring the A1C levels which gives them a "snapshot" of average blood glucose levels for the past 2 or 3 months. The American Diabetes Association offers many free support resources.
