Caregiver Stress
One quarter of adults are presently caring for an aging parent or relative, with close to half (45%) of this group providing care for their spouse. The person responsible for providing this care is called the family caregiver. In most cases, the family caregiver is a spouse, the eldest daughter or the grown child who lives the closest to the parent(s) or other family member needing care.

Learn how to bridge the communication gap that exists between you and your aging loved one. The 40/70 basically means that if you are 40 or if your parents are 70 it is time to start talking about issues of aging. Start simple! Visit this site for helpful tips on how to bridge the communication gap!

For more than three decades Central Oregon Council on Aging has proven to be a vital resource for seniors in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties. The agency's 30 employees, along with nearly 700 volunteers, provide a variety of services designed to help keep seniors living independently and in their own homes for as long as possible.

For over 33 years, Hospice of Redmond has provided quality end-of-life services to people throughout all of Central Oregon. Patients and their families can count on the compassionate care of Hospice of Redmond as life’s journey comes to an end. Our Hospice team impacts the lives of terminally ill patients by assisting them and their families with their own unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Our dedicated professional team honors the patient’s wishes while working closely with their doctor to provide quality, personalized care. Hospice doctors, registered nurses, licensed therapists, social workers, hospice aides, spiritual and bereavement counselors, Veterans’ Advocate, and trained volunteers provide services that allow our patients to remain in their homes and as active and in control of their lives as possible.

Hospice of Redmond’s core services are funded through Medicare, private insurance, and donations. The organization provides services at no charge regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.

Central Oregonians have been selecting Partners in Care as their Agency of Choice for over 20 years. Whether it's our physical therapists helping an individual recover from surgery or providing bereavement support when a loved one dies, our fundamental belief is that healthcare is about relationships and trust.

At Partners in Care, our skilled health care professionals provide the highest patient-centered quality of care with respect, compassion and dignity. We encourage patients and their families to actively participate in their health care decisions and work collaboratively with their health care team.
