Home Instead Caregiver

A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

Home Instead recognizes outstanding CAREGivers who demonstrate the Attributes of Love (v)This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence, and it rewards CAREGivers for their hard work, compassionate care and dedicated service to others.

On an annual basis, we select a CAREGiver of the Year and celebrate him/her at a special reception at our office. Our CAREGiver of the Year is also presented to our corporate headquarters in Omaha, Neb., as a nominee for the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

Appleton CAREGiver of the Month
2020

June 2020 | Kevin

Kevin is a committed CAREGiver who is always eager to go above and beyond for his client and our office; in fact, he’s known for pitching in and offering extra help when needed. In addition, Kevin is a very active CAREGiver, which gets his client involved in activities and spending time outdoors. On top of that, he brings a wonderful sense of humor to each shift and along on his office visits, adding a smile to everyone’s day. On behalf of the Appleton team, we Love (v) you, Cindy (inside joke)! You truly embody our eight Attributes of Love (v).

May 2020 | Janina

Janina has spent the last 18 years putting others' needs ahead of her own and teaching others about Love (v); in fact, client Sophie said that she wouldn't know what to do without her help, "She means everything to me." Sophie has found her perfect CAREGiver match in Janina; the two have become great friends. For fun and interest, Sophie and Janina speak in the German language when they're together because they're both from Germany.

April 2020 | Cheryl

For the past five years, Cheryl has served clients as an overnight and live-in CAREGiver. This shift can be challenging, as it requires being away from home and family for a few days at a time, but Cheryl has kept her commitment to her clients. She also assists our office by taking on multiple clients and helping with last-minute requests if she can.

In that time, we have witnessed the wonderful connections Cheryl has with clients and the relationships she’s built with them. We see it quite frequently, in fact, because she and her clients are regulars at our monthly CAREGiver Café events.

March 2020 | Jan

Jan is diligent to keep clients engaged in activities and to improve the quality of their lives. For example, they routinely participate in events held in our CAREGiver Café, even going as far as coordinating their outfits to align with the monthly themes and get into the spirit. This has become a fun tradition for everyone to witness.

Watching Jan grow as a CAREGiver has been a pleasure. She has been flexible to serve the needs of multiple clients as well as proactive to ensure that they have the best care, even calling and asking our team for guidance or advice — all in the name of client wellbeing.

February 2020 | Beth

When Beth joined us in July 2018, she arrived with excellent experience, having served as a family caregiver for her parents. With that experience, she fully understands that there is “no place like home” for seniors.

Our office receives a constant inpouring of wonderful feedback from family members of Beth’s clients. They recognize the blessing that is Beth. In the care she provides for the families’ loved ones, Beth takes a proactive, kind, gentle approach.

After working full time at ThedaCare, Beth spends the evening dinner hours with her clients. She is also a “weekend warrior” for her clients. We are blessed to have her on our wonderful CAREGiver team.

January 2020 | Alan

With us for a little more than a year, Alan is enjoying his new career as a CAREGiver. Despite being new to this role, he jumped in with his whole heart and now absolutely loves making a difference by helping seniors through challenging life transitions. He has immersed himself in our industry, even researching dementia and Alzheimer’s on his own time and constantly seeking new ways to connect with clients. His caregiving experiences are also helping him to ease the burden for aging family members, and that is resulting in the formation of special familial bonds.

Having Alan on our team is a true joy. He frequently visits our office to share stories. He is always positive and enthusiastic about his clients, no matter what level of care they require. We’ve heard Alan say on countless occasions that it’s not what he’s doing for his clients, it’s what they are doing for him.
