Home Instead Caregiver

A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

Home Instead recognizes outstanding CAREGivers who demonstrate the Attributes of Love (v)This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence, and it rewards CAREGivers for their hard work, compassionate care and dedicated service to others.

On an annual basis, we select a CAREGiver of the Year and celebrate him/her at a special reception at our office. Our CAREGiver of the Year is also presented to our corporate headquarters in Omaha, Neb., as a nominee for the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

Appleton CAREGiver of the Month
2020

January 2020 | Alan

With us for a little more than a year, Alan is enjoying his new career as a CAREGiver. Despite being new to this role, he jumped in with his whole heart and now absolutely loves making a difference by helping seniors through challenging life transitions. He has immersed himself in our industry, even researching dementia and Alzheimer’s on his own time and constantly seeking new ways to connect with clients. His caregiving experiences are also helping him to ease the burden for aging family members, and that is resulting in the formation of special familial bonds.

Having Alan on our team is a true joy. He frequently visits our office to share stories. He is always positive and enthusiastic about his clients, no matter what level of care they require. We’ve heard Alan say on countless occasions that it’s not what he’s doing for his clients, it’s what they are doing for him.

December 2019 | Becky

Becky, an exceptional CAREGiver who has been with us since March 2015, applies a personal approach to each one of her clients. There’s a gentleness in the care she provides, along with zealous ambition to provide the best care she can. She has repeatedly told us that she wants to improve her knowledge and skills, “I’m not out to be the best CAREGiver, but to be the best I can be.” One of Becky’s strengths is her willingness to help; in fact, she has always been there to help us through times when clients have extra needs.

November 2019 | Tracy

We have been blessed to have Tracy with us since September 2016. Tracy has a kindhearted approach to life; it is evident in her smile, communication and dedication to her clients.

One can sense that Tracy's clients have even become an extended family to her, and, thanks to the way she handles everything with Love (v), they are comfortable with her in that role. Tracy said, "Being a good CAREGiver is becoming whatever clients need you to be, and being sensitive to their needs. I ask God before my shifts, 'How can I be a blessing to them today?' And He always shows me."

October 2019 | Irene

Irene has been blessing clients with her wonderful care since 2012. Reliable, hardworking and cheerful (she arrives with a smile!), Irene has been known to make life easier for clients; in fact, the Appleton office has, on many occasions, received reports from clients about how much she was able to accomplish on her shift. The office has also received countless client phone calls to commend Irene on her cooking skills.

Irene surely impacts the lives of her clients in so many positive ways. In addition to her regular clients, she demonstrates a teamplayer mindset by frequently assisting when other client needs arise. She will fill in for additional shifts when she’s available and, at times, sacrifices her own personal time to accommodate the clients. Regardless of the client, Irene approaches him or her with family-like love and care.
