As we wrap up this year’s Be a Santa to a Senior program, we would
like to thank our retail and nonprofit partners, volunteers and members
of the community for making the program a huge success.
We set out
to fill gift requests for more than 1,000 seniors across the valley –
and thanks to everyone’s generous support, we were able to deliver more
than 2,500 gifts to those 1,000 deserving seniors.
delivered gifts to seniors in assisted living and skilled nursing
facilities as well seniors who are still living in their own homes. In
addition to their gifts, each senior received a hand-decorated card from
a student from the Mesa Public School district or one of the
participating Girl Scout troops.
Special thanks go to the local
companies, churches, community organizations and retailers – including
Walgreens and Walmart – that helped us collect the gifts. We also
appreciate the support of our volunteers – including the Girl Scouts and
Gilbert High School Red Cross Club – for helping us decorate gift bags
and wrap each of the special deliveries.
For all of those who
contributed to our program – please know that you truly did make a
difference in the life of a local senior this holiday season.
Thank you… and Happy New Year!
