We are your trusted provider of comprehensive non-medical home health care services for seniors.  We can assist the senior in your life with homemaker tasks (cleaning, laundry, errands, etc.), hands on personal care (bathing, ambulation, grooming, etc.) and many other home care services.

When you're ready for help, our caring staff is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to quickly answer your questions and accomodate your senior service needs.  We will offer a free in-home consultation with you and your loved ones to arrange for the most appropriate care...and with over 250 CAREGivers on staff, we are sure to find a great match!

Teresa Steinfatt, CEO/Franchise Owner You know the story: When Torsten and Teresa opened Home Instead Senior Care in Richmond, VA in 1997, they were the only two employees. In fact, Teresa still held her job in medical sales while she also managed the operations and marketing efforts for Home Instead in those early years. Now, as the CEO/franchise owner, Teresa is focusing on ways to grow and expand our services. For example, her passion for and experience in the health care industry helped shape our 2012 pilot study on discharge planning for CHF patients, demonstrating the importance of home care in the prevention of hospital readmissions. And, as the industry continually shifts, Teresa is constantly positioning our home care services among families, physicians, social workers and other health care professionals as a means to keeping our senior community safe. With two active teens at home, Teresa is always running from one kid’s activity to the next…while also finding the time to pursue her love for long-distance running!

Kelly has been an integral part of the Home Instead management team. She has been a part of HISC for over 10 years and has performed every job in the office at some point - just filling in for others. Now, she oversees operations in the Richmond and Tappahannock offices! Dedicated does not describe how she feels, she loves it and it is not uncommon for office staff to see e-mails from Kelly with time stamps ranging from 4am or 11pm. Her organizational skills and communication strength help keep our offices running happily and smoothly everyday.


Stephanie Derry, Client Care Manager

As the Client Care Manager, Stephanie Derry manages the entire client experience with Home Instead Senior Care. She is the main point of contact for all customer service, oversees the plans of care for our companionship clients, manages our quality assurance program and oversees the staffing department. With her background in PR and advertising, Stephanie also manages the public relations campaigns and public outreach events in the Richmond metro area. 


Harriette Horn, Administrative Assistant

Harriette Horn joined Home Instead Senior Care in July 2010 as our Administrative Assistant bringing with her over 25 years of experience. She handles all c​aregiver and staff payroll for both the Richmond and Tappahannock offices. In addition to payroll, she spends time working on our Accounts Receivables. Harriette cares for her aging parents and understands the needs of seniors. Her compassion for the elderly carries over into her work with Home Instead.​


Jackie Leep, RN

Jackie Leep, RN

​Jackie Leep is our RN at Home Instead Senior Care and has been with HISC for over 10 years. Jackie is on the go each and every day going to personal care assessments and visits to a large number of clients and new ones added every day. Those who have met her or spent any time around her will tell you that she is the sweetest person that they have ever met. Our staff loves her, our caregivers love her and our clients love her. In addition to traveling all over metro Richmond to see clients, Jackie also instructs a personal care review in house at our training center for our caregivers. Jackie is an integral part of our continuing education curriculum that we strive to offer to our caregivers.

With a background in customer service and administration, Tiffany is your go-to for all things services and schedules here at Home Instead Senior Care RVA. When not helping our caregivers and clients, Tiffany enjoys reading, thrifting, antiquing and decorating her home for the seasons.​

Janice Thomas is the voice behind HISC after hours! Janice has been a part of the Home Instead Senior Care team for over 10 years.  Janice handles on-call for HISC when the office is closed.  Though she does not work in the office during normal operation hours, Janice is another staffing coordinator in that she knows all of the clients, cases and caregivers.  She picks up the phone anytime of the night or weekend and handles every situation that arises.  Though her role in on-call is for emergencies only, Janice always handles everything with grace, urgency and a commitment to keeping everyone happy and cared for at all times.  Janice is fully invested in the mission of Home Instead Senior Care and proves that every night and weekend when she keeps everything staffed seamlessly and ensures that there is always a welcome and truly committed voice on the other end of the line.

Paulina Rios is our Receptionist. You may recognize her, already! Paulina started working for Home Instead Senior Care as a CAREgiver. From the field, she was hired to be our Receptionist and eventually, promoted to Billing Specialist. Paulina always has a smile on her face. She exudes happiness and appears unshakeable. Always a professional and always with a sweet tone of voice, we cannot imagine a work day without her!


Beckey DeLand, HR Coordinator

Beckey DeLand has over 10 years of experience working HR in hospital systems and facilities. She is versed in compliance and understands not only rules and regulations, but also the tools our company needs to produce the best CAREgivers and give the best care. She is responsible for the hiring of all of our CAREgivers as well as their training. She also teaches our Alzheimer’s Training class, creates the CG newsletter, creates personal care quizzes and more. All the while, Beckey is working to ensure that we are always operating at the standard where we need to be and doing all of the right things!
