Rachel Carson - Franchise Owner

Rachel Carson - Franchise Owner

Rachel was born in Greenville, SC, and grew up on St. Simons Island, GA.  A graduate of Furman University, she then earned a degree in Physical Therapy at Duke University.  She has also earned the designation of Certified Senior Advisor.   Rachel's mission has always been to make a real difference by assisting people to improve their lives.  Her passion is being an advocate for seniors, enhancing their quality of life and assisting them in remaining at home as long as possible. She has been blessed by her son, Clif Cooper, daughter-in-law, Wendy, grandson, Josh and his wife Misty and a close- knit family.  To her Home Instead is not just a business.  To her, it's deeply personal.​​

Maureen Evans -General Manager

Maureen Evans -General Manager

Maureen was born the youngest of eight children and raised in Savannah on the river at Whitmarsh Island where she still loves anything to do with water; swimming, boating, crabbing, you name it!  She is married to her husband Dave and has two great sons – Brandon & Justin. Her family has expanded to add a wonderful daughter-in-law; Bea and a granddaughter; Aidan and a grandson, Asher.  Maureen's whole career has been geared toward helping seniors.  She's been a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for over 21 years and worked at Savannah Square Retirement Community for 18 years; the last 6 as the Executive Director.  Still wanting to help seniors in some way after leaving Savannah Square, she was "caught up" in the wonderful CAREGiving philosophy of Home Instead Senior Care and enjoys overseeing the day to day operations to ensure our precious seniors are given loving, quality care! ​​

Samantha Neal - Office Manager

Samantha Neal - Office Manager

Samantha grew up in Savannah and now resides in Effingham county. She is married to her husband Jeff and has 2 wonderful boys – Austin and Dustin. They keep her busy with sports. She is very family oriented! When asked what she does for the weekend it usually has to do with a house full of her boys, nieces & nephews and their friends. She says she at least knows where they are and what they are doing. Samantha was a Manager with Kroger for seventeen years before coming to Home Instead in 2002. Seniors are very close to her heart. She loves getting to know the clients and the CAREGivers which is usually over the phone. She has found her place with Home Instead.​​

Nora Shuman - Service Coordinator

Nora Shuman - Service Coordinator

Nora is a native Savannahian, a graduate of Savannah High and only lacks 6 classes to graduate from Savannah State University. She is a twin! (Her sister is 4 minutes older than she.) Her past experience includes working with Chapter 11 bankruptcy and with the Fire Department. She is the wife of the minister of Rose of Sharon Baptist church, the mother of three children and grandmother of a 10 month old boy. She loves the outdoors, traveling and animals.​

Jennifer Glaser - Customer Service Representative

Jennifer Glaser - Customer Service Representative

Jennifer was born and raised in Wisconsin and moved to Virginia where she married and raised her family. She and her husband Jack, love the spirited activity of their combined family which includes five children and ten grandchildren. Jennifer is a nurse, an accomplished oil painter and also teaches fine art to all ages. She met Rachel as their Philips Lifeline Liaison for Home Instead Savannah in 2006. Jennifer deeply appreciated the passion and dedication of Rachel's team as they worked together to promote safe and graceful aging in Savannah and the Hilton Head area. In 2011 Jennifer took time off to care for her father and re-opened her home art studio. In 2014 she returned to work with pleasure as part of the Home Instead team.​

Stefanie Lassley - Engagement Coordinator

Stefanie Lassley - Engagement Coordinator

Stefanie was born and raised in Hawley, PA a small town in the Pennsylvania Poconos. She attended Slippery Rock University near Pittsburg PA. where she earned her BA in Social Work. After graduating she worked for Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging and her love for seniors began. Prior to moving to Savannah, she lived on a remote resort Island off the coast of North Carolina called Ocracoke.  There she married her college sweetheart Aaron and traveled in the "off season" for almost 10 years.  After moving to Savannah she knew she wanted to help seniors and started her career with Home Instead as a CAREGiver.  She has a creative side, in her spare time she can often be found painting or refurbishing furniture. She has also dabbled in wedding photography and has won multiple photo contests where her work was featured in newspapers, calendars and art galleries. Helping people is her passion and she is very grateful to be a part of the Home Instead Family!​​

Peggy Uchno - Client Care Coordinator for South Carolina

Peggy Uchno - Client Care Coordinator for South Carolina

​Peggy and her husband are originally from Pennsylvania, where they raised two sons. Now they have a daughter-in-law and a grandson who is now one! They are very proud of him!  Peggy worked several years in a customer service position prior to her arrival at the Home Instead in Winchester, VA. She started as a CAREGiver and after demonstrating exceptional CAREGiver abilities, was promoted to Recruitment and Retention Assistant and then Client Care Coordinator.  She taught Alzheimer's training classes to CAREGivers and  family caregivers, performed care consultations, visited clients, and handles client concerns. Peggy's genuine care and concern for seniors and passion for her work has proved her a great fit for our team in the position of  Client Care Coordinator in South Carolina. She will have the same responsibilities she performed so well in Virginia.  She enjoys physical fitness and also strives to live a healthy lifestyle.  We are so very fortunate Peggy and her husband moved to South Carolina and she found her way to our Home Instead family!


Ashley Chester Client Care Coordinator

Ashley Chester Client Care Coordinator

Ashley was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana which is where most of her family still resides. She has worked in hospitality/customer service and healthcare, and has always enjoyed providing care and kindness to whomever is in need. Ashley and her husband Brian, have been married for 8 years, and have 3 sons, Jackson, Sutton and Lane.  

She loves experiencing new places and adventures with her family and friends, but also appreciates home time and enjoys cooking, crafting, and working on projects with her kids. Ashley graduated from ECPI University in Charlotte, NC with an AAS Health Science majoring in medical assisting. She also held certifications as an ECG technician and Billing and Coding Specialist as well.  She believes in hard work, has a passion for helping others, and truly believes that people should "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Having a close relationship with her grandparents, Ashley feels that respect for seniors goes a long way. She is honored to join the Home Instead Team and is happy to provide support in any way to help advocate respect, proper care, and education for our seniors and the loved ones surrounding them.


Gina Batiste - Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Gina Batiste - Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

​Gina was raised by her grandparents from a young age in Ohio. She loves spending time with family and friends and is very family oriented!  As a child, she and her sister enjoyed cooking, planning dinners, events and parties with her grandfather who was the VFW Commander, a U.S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Gina always had a close relationship with her grandmother with whom she shared a love of the arts. They attended many concerts, symphonies, plays & ballets together. After High School Gina followed in her grandfather's footsteps and joined the Army, where she met Tony, her wonderful husband of 16 years. They have 2 beautiful children together, travelled and lived in many states across the U.S. including 4 times in GA. She has been a preschool teacher, a live-in nanny and a caregiver both privately and with Home Instead. She enjoys writing poetry, cooking, making homemade natural products and herbal teas for her friends and family. Gina has a true passion for helping others. She started volunteering as a child in retirement homes with her grandfather and nursing homes with her church. The desire to help others continues into adulthood where she has volunteered in her children's' classrooms, drama club and cheer teams. She served with AmeriCorps (Service to Armed Forces), the American Red Cross and with her children by her side for Potter's Hands (feeding the homeless) and the Health Department's Youth Coalition Program. Gina is eternally grateful for the opportunity to continue serving others through her Home Instead Senior Care family!


Elaine Frantz, RN Quality Assurance Nurse for Georgia

Elaine Frantz, RN Quality Assurance Nurse for Georgia

Elaine holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and a graduate degree in management from The College of Notre Dame in Maryland. Since 1972, Elaine served in various clinical, academic, and administrative positions in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Maryland before joining as the Director of Trauma and VP of Memorial Health University Physicians at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. Elaine retired in 2015 and shortly thereafter, she realized that her passion for caregiving had not decreased, but only increased her desire to work with senior care clients. Elaine is also passionate about anything related to airplanes and flying in addition to spending time with her family and “Coco,” her black Labrador retriever.
