Delivering Precious Moments and Memories

January 2016 has arrived! Home Instead Senior Care, Daytona Beach Office welcomes in the New Year by selecting, Doreen DeMorro, as our January CAREGiver of the Month. Doreen joined our HISC family in October of 2013. She has been married to her wonderful husband Pete for 22 years. They have three children and five beautiful grandchildren. Doreen and her family all share a great love for animals. Doreen laughs as she jokes that her family has their own small zoo. Together they have six dogs, five cats, eight birds, and two bearded dragons.

Doreen started her professional career journey as an art teacher after graduating college. After moving to Florida, Doreen took a little time and decided to go back to college to become a CNA/HHA/PCA. She continues to Take the Lead by attending as many training classes that she can fit into her busy schedule. She tells me that she has “always found the CAREGiving job very rewarding.” Doreen gives credit to the HISC Franchise and to the office staff for running a smooth operation making it a great place to work. It is hard not to smile while talking with Doreen about her position as a CAREGiver, as her own smile shines bright.  When she speaks about Sharing her Heart, Taking the Lead, and Building Trust with her clients, you can see the joy she has for her clients and her job here at Home Instead Senior Care.

When I asked Doreen to share a memorable experience with me, she immediately replies that she has experienced so many different moments and times that there are too many to name just one. Doreen Shares her Heart with every one of her clients and says “I completely enjoy what I do and I love all my clients”.  Her happiness comes from the fact that she loves to bring smiles into the lives of her clients. She feels that her day isn’t complete until she can share some bright warming smiles and make her clients laugh. Doreen Builds Trust with every hour of every shift by just being herself and cherishing each moment that she shares with her client. She says that she became a CAREGiver because “making others feel good, makes me feel good.” “I had a client for 2 snowbird seasons, he was a hospice patient, whose only real joy left was good food.  I loved to cook his favorite dish (chicken parmigiana) because it brought such joy to him.”

Congratulations to Doreen DeMorro and Thank You for EVERYTHING that you do!
