Rohani G. January 2014 CAREGiver of the Month

Rohani G. January 2014 CAREGiver of the Month
I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I came to the U.S. in 1983 and have lived in AZ since then.  I raised 3 wonderful children.  In later years I befriended an elderly lady, Mary S. She is the reason I became interested in the caring line of work.  I used to drive her to appointments and would take her out to lunch once a month. Caregiving is a very rewarding job especially when you can make a difference in someone's life. My client Bonnie is 93 years old and a very sweet and gentle lady.  I have taken care of her for nearly 3 years. I am so fortunate to have Jennifer, Bonnie's private caregiver on board.  She is an experienced registered nurse and my mentor.  I gained tons of learning experiences through her to enable me to perform my job to the fullest. Bonnie has a dog named Lucy and a cat Scooter, who is not doing well due to old age. Bonnie does not believe in euthanasia, so all caregivers try to keep him as comfortable as possible.  I also take Bonnie's recyclables home since her trash collection does not provide the service...trying to do my part to save the environment.  I have truly enjoyed being Bonnie's caregiver. I am honored to have been chosen to be the caregiver of the month for January.
