The town of Sterling Massachusetts is located in Worcester counties. The population of Sterling per the 2000 census, was 7,257 with a 2010 Sterling population projection of 8,438. Initially settled in 1720 as a portion of Lancaster, Sterling was called the Chocksett portion of Lancaster. In 1781, Chocksett was incorporated and the town's name was changed to Sterling.

Located between the cities of Leominster and Worcester, Sterling is a quiet, picturesque town with​ a lovely town center.
