September 2018 | Missy H.

What makes her a great CAREGiver: Missy easily adapts to clients’ situations, based on their needs and preferences. Plus, she always makes her clients feel special and important. These behaviors likely stem from being a family caregiver for her grandpar-ents as well as her years working in the hospital setting.

What sets her apart: By offering helpful tips and suggestions, Missy has helped other CAREGivers on her client’s team succeed in their roles. If able, Missy will also jump in if open shifts become available. She will often even rearrange her schedule or travel anywhere to assist.

Attribute(s) of Love (v.) she demonstrates: Definitely respectfulness! Missy treats every client as though they are her own parents. She tells the clients that she is a guest in their homes.

Personal life: Missy enjoys gardening, reading and going to church.

August 2018 | Cathy S.

What makes her a great CAREGiver: Being a retired teacher, Cathy possesses a positive, sunny outlook. She took care of her mother until her passing, which instilled in Cathy the real-life skills necessary to care for clients as well as the ability to display empathy and anticipate a client’s needs.

What sets her apart: She frequently calls the office, ready and willing to help any client. She fills in during shifts when she’s able, especially on weekends when shifts tend to be more difficult to staff.

Attribute(s) of Love (v.) she demonstrates: A client’s daughter commented how Cathy shows patience with her mother at shower time: “She uses care, caution and extra time during this important process.” Another client’s daughter said that Cathy is part of her mom’s Dream Team because she’s kind and loving.
