1 in 5.

That’s how many seniors that take 5 or more medications say that they face challenges in managing their medications.

That’s 1 in 5 seniors that admit to needing help. What are the chances your mother or father are one of those?

From that same group of seniors we surveyed, 1 in 10 told us that they did not take their prescription drugs as directed. In terms of scary statistics, this surely has a place near the top when talking about our aging loved ones. 1-10.png

Speaking with your parents is a very difficult thing to do. Nobody is going to pretend that it isn’t. Add to that a healthy layer of pride because they don’t want to talk about what they “can’t do anymore,” and you are in for one heck of an uphill battle.

More than just outlining statistics, we hope you will take the time to sit down and have meaningful conversations about medication management. Let’s find out if there is already an issue we may not be aware of and figure out what we can do.

Broaching the conversation of medication management with mom and dad doesn’t have to be difficult. More often than not, a few conversation starters are enough to get the ball rolling.

Visit LetsTalkAboutRx.com and learn how you can have “the talk about drugs.”
