Selecting one single CAREGiver to be awarded as our CAREGiver of the Year is never an easy choice. We have so many wonderful and deserving CAREGivers that give back to our clients in many different ways. This year, when selecting our 2018 CAREGiver of the Year, there as one name mentioned by almost every single staff member when we offered nominees. Phyllis is highly regarded by her clients, other CAREGivers and the staff members at Home Instead Senior Care as a true CAREGiver – someone who not only performs her job duties with diligence and respect but uplifts her clients and brings them joy by supporting them in ways they did not even know they needed. She is truly dedicated, knowledgeable, responsible and a positive force for everyone around her. We are all better for knowing Phyllis.
"Phyllis is so wonderful and the way she cared for me. She doesn't have to be told or asked – she humbly takes care of needs without any complaints. I have really been blessed in having her. She is uplifting and positive to me. I say this from my heart.
P.S. I recognize her a #1 caregiver – she is a pot of gold" – Genevieve, one of Phyllis' clients
"You know you have a wonderful CAREGiver working on your team when they can literally be staffed with ANY client, no matter the level of care and personality, and she is perfectly suited for them. Every client that Phyllis works with asks for her as their primary CAREGiver. She is funny, uplifting, always positive and completely supportive of the emotional and physical challenges that our clients are facing. She directly helped one of her clients go from extreme health problems with 24/7 care to a complete recovery with a very limited schedule – because Phyllis mended her back to health. This same client she brought to the office several times a month to get cookies from the CAREGiver café because she knew how much she loved "Grandma's cookies" that we kept in stock just for her. She is a dedicated, love of a lady who was meant to be a CAREGiver ❤ " – Shanna Howard, Owner

Lukas started with us and made an immediate impact on his clients. We see how passionate he is about serving his client and building strong relationships with him and are grateful for all that he does every day. He has always had a love for the older generations. Growing up Lukas spent most of his time with his grandparents and older relatives and learned how valuable these people are to us. His favorite part of being a caregiver is learning about the lives of his clients, both who they are now and the things they've experienced throughout their lives. When Lukas is not at work you can usually find him tending to his plants, writing, or doing any one of several types of needlework. Thank you for all you do, Lukas!
