2019 CAREGiver of the Year - Lukas

aCGOY.jpg

Selecting one single CAREGiver to be awarded as our CAREGiver of the Year is never an easy choice. We have so many wonderful and deserving CAREGivers that give back to our clients in many ways. This year, when selecting our 2019 CAREGiver of the Year, there was one name mentioned by almost every single staff member when we offered nominees. Lukas celebrated his first anniversary with Home Instead Senior Care this February. He is an outstanding CAREGiver and consistently goes above and beyond for his clients. Without a doubt, Lukas deserves this recognition and we could not be prouder to have him as a part of our HISC family.

I was walking in and saw Lukas helping a client get out of the car as the client's wife dropped them off at the door before parking. Lukas looked so professional in his Home Instead Senior Care uniform.  He was very focused on his client and helped him navigate into the center with his walker. After everyone was settled around the support group table, there was a time for introductions. There were over 20 medical professionals, Parkinson's disease family members and those with Parkinson's themselves, and competitors seated at the table. Lukas, who sat beside his client, introduced himself as "Mr. H's friend that was there to learn more about how to help him." What a perfect response! It was clear who he was representing, but he presented himself in such a way to maintain his client's dignity...as his friend. This simple act of kindness was thoughtful and inspiring.  Lukas enhances the lives of his clients and their families by living To us its personal® every day!

 ~Shannon Holland, Community and Engagement

Lukas is dedicated to his clients, and each client adores him.  He has the true heart of a caregiver with his unique and caring spirit that puts his clients at ease.  When he is not working, he is gardening, spending time with his family, experimenting with new recipes, or working on his new home! Lukas's dedication leaves us both inspired and proud to work with him.  Thank you, Lukas!  We are grateful for you!
