If you’re a caregiver of a senior with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, you may have seen a change in your loved one’s behavior since the onset of COVID-19. Home Instead CAREGiver Anita noted that her 91-year-old client, who has dementia, has always been an active people-person who loved to get out of the house. “She misses our daily trips to the senior center and can’t see her friends. She is more restless, confused, angry and concerned. I try to encourage her every day. Having a positive outlook is big.”

Alzheimer’s and memory care expert David Troxel and gerontologist and caregiver advocate Lakelyn Hogan share tips to manage dementia caregiving during a time of social distancing.

Watch to learn:

  • Ways to connect with loved ones via technology
  • Activities caregivers can do with a loved one while being 6 feet apart
  • Finding time to practice self-care
  • Tips for staying positive during challenging times
  • Stress management techniques
